Excellent place in the center of Matera, with modern and design furniture that stands out from the classic places dug into the tuff. Tasted the various à la carte starters: spectacular local Angus carpaccio with excellent burratina, cardoncelli, broad beans and chicory and freshly made cruschi peppers The first courses are good and in particular the loaf filled with orecchiette and turnip tops. Selection of Aglianico from various excellent quality wineries. Highly recommended!!!. Kind and friendly staff, especially the legendary Gaetano, restaurant manager

Excellent value for money. Impeccable service, very kind and helpful. If you want to try something different from the usual I highly recommend this place! Original cocktails and appetizers... I'm generally bad at cocktails but the margarita they made me was delicious, well balanced (I had three). If you have never been there I recommend you try it at least once in your life 😁

“The Loft in Matera is an exceptional venue. The staff is extremely kind and welcoming. The barman, Michele, prepares really excellent cocktails at honest prices Furthermore, they prepare gourmet appetizers, which make the experience even more pleasant. I highly recommend dropping by!

Both the restaurant and the Loft impress with their intimate and intimate atmosphere, modern but super welcoming furnishings... ideal for a romantic or group dinner! Excellent idea for dinners and corporate parties or with friends! The added value of the restaurant is the owner who personally welcomes every customer and treats them with excellent traditional Lucanian/Matera dishes 🥰

Basquait in the center of Matera, Italy makes for an enjoyable dining experience. The decor is eclectic, art on the walls, comfortable couches along tables makes for a more casual feel. The food was excellent. The tuna crudo was fresh and clean, the orecchiette had a dynamic presentation, various textures and a savory flavors. The fennel salad was fresh and clean. All of our food was delicious. Compounded by a friendly sever and its a destination to return!

I passed by this place and I was immediately captured and intrigued by the place. What can I say, once I entered I immersed myself in a captivating place, sui generis, relaxing and transporting music, very friendly staff, really honest prices, top quality/price ratio.

Un trato exquisito de las camareras y el dueño del Restaurante, muy amables y atentos en nuestras preguntas del menú, ya que no entendíamos bien el italiano. La carne a la plancha caliente muy buena y mucha cantidad. La ensalada recomendación del chef, muy rica . En general todo bien

Waren hier an einem Regentag im September. Preis/Leistung sehr gut. Essen sehr fein. Die Musik zum Mittagessen entsprach unserem Geschmack:)

11/11/2024: Last night I had dinner here with my boyfriend, there's no doubt about it, it was the best pizza I've ever eaten. I am lactose and also nickel intolerant but this was absolutely not a problem as the staff served me a pizza with lactose-free mozzarella. Even though I decided of my own free will to try foods that are not allowed in my diet, I had a really good time, unlike other pizzerias. The pizza, in addition to being good, is really light and you are spoiled for choice. Fresh and delicious products. Friendly and helpful staff. Perhaps the only flaw is that the music is a little too loud for my tastes. I can't wait to go back.

07/01/2025: It was a pleasant setting in large cave, food was delicious, we just ate a pasta, but it was fresh and very tasty. The staff were both excellent, friendly and helpful.
01/01/2025: If there is one restaurant which you should visit in Matera, THIS is the one. Literally. Stop scrolling, stop looking around, this is the best. 1. The hospitality and service is unmatched. They are so kind in here, they make you feel like you’re at home. Amazing people. 2. The food. I can talk for hours about it. An explosion of flavours. So well done. SO, SO, SO TASTY!!! AND ALSO THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE!!!!!!!! Amazing gluten free pasta! Amazing gluten AND lactose free profiteroles! Amazing soup! Incredible dishes! 3. The atmosphere - you’re sitting in a an authentic cave-looking place which 1000 years ago used to be a church. And there are frescoes on the walls. Really, truly amazing. The only negative is that we found them too late.
