Basico In Todi

The quality is really high, both in the food, the service and the location. The meat is some of the best I've had in local restaurants! The prices are adequate when compared to the quality of the food, the place and the service!

In una delle piazze più bella d'italia... questo ristorante offre del cibo ottimo in una location incantevole.. al chiuso elegante con un pizzico di retro.. all'aperto difronte alla bella cattedrale... il cibo mixa tradizione a modernità.. da consigliare assolutamente.. il titolare socievole...cortese... e in grado di dare il giusto consiglio.

In the central Piazza del Popolo in Todi, I was expecting something "touristy", but Basico, in name but not in fact, turned out to be a very lucky choice! We weren't very hungry but we couldn't help but have the inviting egg pouch on parmesan fondue, with truffle. Splendid to look at and exceptional in the flavors that support each other and enhanced by a generous dose of truffle. A rich and complete dish! At that point there was only room for dessert, a very refined panna cotta and a "silk" tiramisu, which were also greatly appreciated! Of note is the menu described in a creative and fascinating way and the great kindness of the staff, combined with in-depth knowledge of the dishes offered. A place to return to with your eyes closed to enjoy all these aspects as well as inspired cuisine! Thank you!

Possibly one of the best restaurants where I have eaten in Italy, and we have done so in many places. Located in the heart of the wonderful medieval city of Todi. In the main square, next to the cathedral and the communal palace. The atmosphere and decoration deserve to be called luxury. Everything is clean, shiny, decorated with great taste. Entering this place makes you feel important. Very well set tables, quality tablecloths, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Everything is designed to give a feeling of beauty, which is achieved. Very professional, friendly and very efficient staff. Good cuisine, tasty dishes, very well presented. Not abundant, correct. Broad letter. Excellent wine list. Delicious homemade desserts. Obviously it is not a cheap restaurant, you may have already guessed, but for the quality offered, the service and the atmosphere described, the prices are tight, below expectations. It is a highly recommended inn, to which we will return without hesitation.

Staff quite friendly and professional. Not very attentive in following up with the customer and anticipating requests for new bread for example. Timing for receiving the courses a little too long for a half-empty restaurant. The location is beautiful, elegant and bright. Impeccable location. Too bad the temperature was too low, despite the brazier being almost always lit, evidently not enough. The bathroom has heated toilets, while the hall with the sink is not and is very cold. The menu is not full of choices, there are five first courses and five second courses to choose from. According to the owner, the strong point of the place is the meat, which we didn't take. We let ourselves be convinced by the cutting board, which for €17 is not worth it, both in terms of quality and quantity. I expected cured meats that would melt in your mouth and be tremendously tasty, but that wasn't the case. The fresh homemade bread is served hot, but there are only a few slices and must be requested continuously, especially if there are several diners. The prices are high, from my point of view out of range. €16 for umbricelli which turns out to be hard and undercooked, with cheese and pepper and a slight hint of truffle. Water €3. Cover charge €3 each.

Locale molto accogliente con qualche contraddizione (un bel camino dove cucinare proprio al centro della sala , frigo con carne pregiata dentro al centro della sala … avrei preferito una maggiore discrezione vista la bellezza delle arcate dei travi …cucina espressa zupp buone corse un po’ semplici … ottime le tagliatelle allo spezzatino … buona scwltw dei cibi ottimo l’ olio e il pane fatto da loro (focaccia e pane).

We arrived at this place recommended by the owner of our B&B and encouraged by the positive reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. The place is very beautiful, ancient but with attention to the smallest details and tastefully furnished. Quiet and refined atmosphere. Attentive and kind staff, but the strong point is definitely the food. Exceptional selection of cured meats! And the entrecôte was the best I've ever eaten. Value for money more than fair. Prices perhaps a little higher than average, but that's absolutely right. Quality comes at a price. We will definitely be back

Stop in the square. For a walk we had lunch in the sun at the tavern, good experience, excellent tagliatelle with Chianina, good wine and. Good service. To review the first sausage and leek too salty. Good experience overall

Fantastic food. I’ve eaten there three times and it’s been great. The carbonara ravioli was a wonderful surprise
