A family-run trattoria. Simple, quality food. Just steps from the highway. A must-see for anyone passing by.

The welcome was warm but not intrusive. Pierino and his family were as wonderful as the authentic local dishes they offer. We left them free to choose what to order, and even just the appetizers would have been more than adequate (fried peperoni cruschi, vegetable frittatas, a platter of cured meats and cheeses, excellent ricotta, pickled chili peppers, nduja, etc.), but we wanted to try some sausages and steak, and I must say the quality of the meat was superb. We ended up chatting in the bar area, and I even bought a whole piece of smoked pancetta and some soppressata. Authenticity, unique flavors, a family atmosphere, and passion for their work convey everything you could wish for when you stop to rest after a long journey home. We'll definitely see you again. Family-run trattoria, just steps from the A2 Altomonte motorway exit, a fantastic place where you can savor the true authentic taste of Calabrian cuisine, from appetizers to first courses with products of their exclusive production... excellent meat... good as always... ❤️

We had the pleasure of staying at the B&B "La Casa nella Prateria" and eating at Trattoria Zio Pierino a few years ago. It was an unforgettable memory, excellent in every way. We returned and felt the same way. We felt like family; the food was excellent, plentiful, authentic, and varied, all topped off with professionalism and attention to customer needs. We ate an appetizer filled with local specialties, exquisite tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms... and finally, a slice of homemade tiramisu, which set the tone for a wonderful evening. The B&B "La Casa nella Prateria" is a pearl in the midst of nature, rustic, furnished with attention to detail, and very clean. This morning's sunrise made it magical. The food was very good, along with the pasta with sauce and all the other delicacies. The interior and exterior were simple, yet with the originality of a trattoria. Very good, and we'll be back! I highly recommend it.

I don't think places like this exist anymore. Places where, upon entering, you feel embraced, and even if you're just passing through, time changes pace. Places where the flavors you savoured as a child, now faded and irreproducible memories, become real again. Places where the simplicity with which they explain the recipe is just the tip of a submerged iceberg, made up of profound dedication, ancient education, gastronomic identity, culinary knowledge, and a great deal of tenacity. Perhaps they're even lucky—they have a land that provides them with fragrant oil, flavorful vegetables, tender herbs, and abundant culture, ready to be absorbed—but they're good because they truly valorize these treasures. Stop, sit down, and let them welcome you—they're excellent. Even if, upon entering, you might not know whether it's a farmhouse that suddenly transforms into a modern tobacconist and lottery, don't worry, just to the left, after the bar, the experience begins...

Beautiful day, a truly delicious lunch, exceptional appetizers, and a must-try first course. Definitely coming back.

Ho pranzato ieri insieme ad un numeroso gruppo di amici in questa trattoria, molto caratteristica, ordinata e pulita, venendo accolti con particolare gentilezza ed il sorriso sia dal titolare che dalle sue figlie, mostratisi da subito molto ospitali, attenti e pronti a qualsiasi esigenza della clientela. I piatti, serviti con prodotti tipici del luogo, sono di ottima qualità e molto particolari anche per quanto riguarda la loro preparazione e presentazione. Ci siamo trovati tutti molto bene sia per l'ospitalità e sia per l'ottimo rapporto qualità - prezzo. Consigliatissimo, anche per i palati più esigenti.

Siamo stati da Zio Pierino in due occasioni la scorsa settimana, incluso il pranzo del 25 aprile. Si tratta di un'osteria a gestione familiare, semplice e schietta. La prima volta abbiamo cenato ordinando un antipasto da condividere, ricco di prelibatezze locali, salumi, formaggi freschi e stagionati, sottoli e fritti tipici (di fiori di sambuco e borragine, fenomenali e mai provati prima!). Già l'antipasto era più che sufficiente a sfamare tutti, quindi a seguire abbiamo ordinato solo delle verdure (broccoletti ripassati e melanzane "a ciambotta" con gli immancabili zafarani o pipi cruschi). Tutto molto buono, con i sapori di casa ed in quantità veramente abbondanti! Il 25 aprile, il locale era strapieno (dentro e fuori) ma il servizio é stato rapido e cortese. Memori della cena precedente abbiamo saltato l'antipasto ordinando solo maccaroni al ragù, una mitica trippa cucinata all'antica, poi verdure (fave e misticanza) ad accompagnare un ottimo arrosto misto e poi un dessert. In entrambe le occasioni abbiamo bevuto un gradevole vino rosso della casa. Che dire, é una trattoria di paese, e a noi piacciono esattamente così, anche considerando il conto più che onesto! Ci teniamo a sottolineare la gentilezza di tutta la famiglia, madre, padre e figlie, nonché della nonna maestra di modi e cucina tradizionale! Inutile dire che torneremo quanto prima, quindi raccomandatissimo!
