Bar Ristorante Pizzeria Cavallo Bianco In Macra

The first impression wasn't the best: a restaurant stuck in the '70s behind a shocking pink facade. We were the only customers on the evening of August 15th, and when we arrived, the lights were still off and it looked like there was no one waiting (despite our reservations). We chose a table overlooking the stream in the back room and began with the set menu, which, for that day, included a mix of four appetizers, a first course, a second course, a side dish, and a homemade dessert. Simple, traditional Piedmontese dishes, cooked with passion and, above all, accompanied, between courses, by stories from the owner, a historic figure in the Maira Valley. We washed it all down with a liter of water and 75cl of excellent house red. We spent €66 for two. It's certainly not a trendy place, but it's welcoming and authentic in its homey atmosphere.

We arrived at 2:30 PM on August 15th. We were greeted warmly. The owners are lovely people. The food was excellent. I highly recommend it.

A well of wisdom, the owner knows every secret of the valley and gives good directions as well as telling anecdotes about the area.

Typical food well prepared. Clean and welcoming environment. Prices more than fair. Friendly and polite service. A pleasant surprise among so many foreign "tourist catching" restaurants. We will find the opportunity to return in large company!

A simple, clean place run by a charismatic couple with immense humanity. The homemade cake is absolutely worth trying.
