A SPECIAL DAY ... you go out for an aimless walk and you find yourself in one of those Sicilian villages that the whole world envies us. I had never been to Castroreale, a village just a handful of kilometers from Messina overlooking the Gulf of Milazzo and the Aeolian Islands. Among Norman towers and the inevitable castle built under the rule of Frederick II, we stop to eat at the Duomo restaurant, formerly home to the nobles' club. Between cheeses, jams, Nebrodi cured meats and a spaghetti with pistachio pesto we start talking to the owner, a returning Italian-Argentinian: born and raised in Argentina he decided to bet and invest here in Sicily. What can I say other than to go and try. Good food and good wine.

We found ourselves in Castroreale by chance, and after a short tour to admire the beauty of the place, and feeling a bit peckish, also given the time, we entered the Al Duomo restaurant, where we were welcomed by the restaurateur like old friends, and had a wonderful lunch. , with 0 km products. Even our dog was welcomed kindly, so what can I say? We will be back and soon too.
