A station where you can catch a train to the airport, to Lake Como where we were. Very convenient.

Central point for local train travel, it's beautiful to walk from Cadorna to the Sforza Castle and then straight towards the Duomo.

My memories of Milan aren't that great.
I pass by at least twice a week. It feels like a glimpse of a Northern European city.

My Milan trip ended at Malpensa Airport, and I traveled there from the city via Milan Cadorna railway station, which gave me a chance to experience Italy’s high-speed rail system.
The entire process—from purchasing tickets to boarding—was extremely convenient. I used the Trenitalia app: simply enter Milan Cadorna as the departure station and Malpensa Aeroporto T1 as the destination, choose your preferred time, and you’re good to go.
There are no ticket checks at the station gates; inspections are carried out randomly on board, with heavy fines for fare evasion. While strict, this system significantly reduces the hassle of repeated checks and makes the journey much smoother.
The ticket costs €15—slightly pricey, but well worth it for the comfort. The train offers only first-class seating, which means spacious, comfortable seats and a relatively quiet environment. You can sit wherever you like, and if you choose a window seat, you’ll enjoy a pleasant view of both Milan’s urban scenery and the Italian countryside along the way.

We stayed near Lima MRT station, right next to Central Station. Given the overwhelming crowds at Central Station, we preferred to drag our luggage, take the MRT to Lima, and catch the airport shuttle there, rather than lug our bags around a street corner to Central Station.
Upon arriving at the airport, we decided to use Lima station as our primary drop-off point. Firstly, it was during the Winter Olympics, so major stations were bound to be crowded. Secondly, we arrived around 8 AM, and the host insisted on cleaning by 2 PM before letting us check in. We also had to explore the luggage storage areas beforehand, avoiding those that were full. In short, it was a result of weighing various factors.
In the end, we successfully completed our mission.
I recommend using your credit card for ticket purchases. I'll stop here; you'll see the advantages later.
