Bar Il Molo In Varenna

26/06/2025: A beautiful and charming location, with lots of greenery and a quiet area. We celebrated my son's first communion in May and had a great time. The food was good, cooked to perfection. None of our guests complained. The risotto was truly delicious, we even asked for seconds, and the roast suckling pig was more than worthy. Above all, the service was impeccable, attentive to all our needs: we requested customized menus, gluten-free, lactose-free, and pork-free, and they were satisfied. And at no extra charge! After lunch, we were able to relax in the garden, sitting on the sofas with some kindly offered liqueurs. In short... a successful first communion!! Thank you so much to all the staff!!

24/06/2025: We were there on Sunday, May 11th, for my niece's first communion. It's a lovely location with plenty of outdoor space, and we had lunch outside. The menu we had could use some improvement: the mixed cured meat appetizers were unremarkable, the vegetable flan lacked flavor, the asparagus risotto was very bland and flavorless, the cannelloni Bolognese was acceptable, but not particularly impressive, the roast suckling pig with potatoes was good, and the cake was average. Coincidentally, on the same day, I bumped into a friend of mine for his son's first communion, and he told me that the first course they'd chosen (aubergine and burrata risotto was very good) might not be their signature dish. As for the price per person, I'm not sure; we were invited.
