Beautiful location, panoramic views, small gardens at the edge of the cliff, and you can see the Albanian coast and its mountains. The church looks renovated on the outside, but it's beautiful. Its stained-glass windows, illuminated by the sun, bring color and life to the interior.

Nothing earth-shattering. The Apostle Peter landed there on his way to Rome, where he was executed. Visiting the city itself is, in my opinion, more worthwhile. This is where the Ionian Sea and the Adriatic Sea meet.

Years ago, the sanctuary of Leuca was a place that, as soon as I saw it, left me stunned by its beauty, my soul in contemplation. However, partly due to the exhaustion of the journey and partly due to the limited time available, I was unable to linger as long as I would have liked. Today, years later, I constantly yearn for a possible return, to linger and once again admire the beauty of the place and enjoy the sanctuary's spirituality. It is a place I recommend to all those who, in a certain sense, want to rediscover themselves in this increasingly chaotic world, and experience a moment of authentic spiritual recollection in simplicity amidst a panorama of enchanting beauty.

Santa Maria di Leuca, Basilica of the Santuario Finibus Terrae, Santa Maria di Leuca's defining attraction is the lighthouse that rises on a cliff above the town. It is one of the tallest lighthouses in Europe and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and the sea. Next to it stands the Basilica of Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae, built on the site of an ancient Roman temple dedicated to Minerva. A staircase leads from the medieval basilica to the port.
