It's a place that retains its 40-year-old style, but that's not a flaw—quite the opposite. The garden offers shaded areas for a relaxed breakfast away from the noise. The staff is very friendly. The pastries are good and updated with the latest trends, offering a variety of puff pastry. The coffee drinks could use some updating...

A timeless place, excellent sandwiches and excellent quality overall, but €4 for a coffee is a bit too much, especially considering you're sitting in this decadent place, which isn't exactly like being by the sea. However, its decadence is ultimately its charm.

I had breakfast at the Gran Bar Giardino Calise and was truly satisfied. It's a historic and elegant establishment, nestled in a beautiful garden that creates a unique and relaxing atmosphere. The selection of pastries, ice cream, and coffee products is extensive and of excellent quality. The staff was kind, friendly, and quick with their service, making me feel immediately at ease. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail and customer service. I absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Ischia, perfect for breakfast, an afternoon break, or an aperitif in a truly pleasant setting. I'll definitely be back!

We stopped by Calise for a takeout croissant after dinner, and the place was almost empty, which, unfortunately, is already sobering. The croissant with cream and black cherry had very little filling, far from the quality one would expect from a historic establishment. But the real surprise was the price: €3 for a croissant, with the explanation that "it costs more in the evening." This choice is difficult to understand, because raising prices precisely at the times when it would be most beneficial to attract customers is an inconsistent strategy and goes against any marketing logic. This only risks driving away customers and emptying a place that was once a landmark.

I have read many reviews of people who complain about the service, or the product without even knowing the nature of its origin, I read many complaints also regarding the prices, I have been to Calise several times in these 10 days, I was lucky enough to know the waiters, bartenders, cashiers, who despite everything were always smiling and helpful, I observed their method and their behavior a lot, both in grueling shifts like Saturday and Sunday and in quieter shifts, and I can guarantee as a customer and restaurateur, that the only ones who should complain should be those guys, who put their heart and their time into preparing, serving and listening to your vices and the unfortunate jokes of many ignored, without looking that behind that apron there is a human being, I appreciate the great improvements, and the modernization of many products, the "American breakfast" cuisine is excellent, the service is more than good, and the products are visually beautiful as well as good, they really have A wide selection, from the simple coffee or juice served in the morning to the rich aperitif with cocktails, ice cream, and endless desserts, all the way to the classy cuisine of the Radici restaurant, which we also tried and appreciated. Unlike many former fellow citizens who complained that the gourmet "cacatella" wasn't filling... I apologize for them. At night, they offer a hot croissant service at the Chalet and Pizzeria di Porzio, and fortunately, we also enjoyed live music on the weekend. Last but not least, this establishment has gardens and shaded green areas and free parking. So, my dear sirs and former fellow citizens, I see that the island mentality has remained the same as it was 25 years ago: you can never have enough, because you don't even know what you want, but above all, you don't know the product you're ordering, nor your intolerances. The champagne has finally reached a higher level, reflecting the inclusion of various cultures and a service provided by qualified staff, something many islanders will never understand, as they are unaccustomed to seeing beyond their noses and to saving money. The bar is beautiful, the atmosphere is truly charming, with plants outside and wonderful wooden details. It's very crowded due to its popularity, but it's worth it. We didn't wait to be seated, and I recommend the Ischian croissant. We also tried other sweet treats like the papillon and pain au chocolat, but I don't recommend them. They have plant-based options for both cappuccinos and croissants.

We ate excellent ice cream, I highly recommend it

Unlike the one at the port, this bar is definitely something else. A different atmosphere, a different quality, both sweet and savory.
