Bar Americano In Venezia

We've loved this standing bar for many years. It's amusing to read some reviews complaining about not being "waited." That's the whole point of an Italian standing bar: you order drinks and snacks at the bar, find a spot at the counter, and enjoy them there 🤷 It's a classic bar straight out of the 70s, with everything you could want. They have great tramezzini, panini, and all kinds of savory and sweet pastries, plus good Spritz and coffee. And the prices aren't any higher than other bars in Venice, even though it's right in front of St. Mark's Basilica in St. Mark's Square. After countless Venice reviews, we always love coming back here for a quick Spritz and a snack.

Very cute bar/cafe, got gelato from here which was fabulous. The service was lovely, the workers were so kind!!

Terrible bar to avoid...sky high prices....€6.50 for a glass of mulled wine, passable.....

A good quick bite when walking around the streets of Venice - tried the croissants, were better than at some bakeries - basic, but good! Even the coffee, cannoli and sfogliatella were decent.

The best sandwitches in the area.
