Atmosphere and Sophistication
The atmosphere of this place is truly welcoming, with soft lighting, thoughtful details, and antiques. The service is attentive and fast. The menu offers a wide selection, with many interesting options. There's also the option of a tasting menu.
We were served a complimentary soup with herbs from the chef's garden.
I had two octopus dishes, both very good and tasty:
• Greek-style octopus, braised in merlot and then grilled, served on a rosemary chickpea cream and a dusting of sweet paprika.
• Carnaroli risotto creamed with Barbera d'Alba, crispy octopus, and citrus zest.
The dessert was very special: pear glazed with Passito di Pantelleria wine, crumble, and caramelized figs with citrus.
They asked us if we wanted to try a liqueur made by the chef, so we accepted, thinking it was free, but instead we ended up paying €6 a glass.
This last detail was a bit of a sour note in an excellent dinner; it should have been mentioned.
We spent €60 each with just one glass of wine. A bit pricey.

A very nice, eclectic place! Excellent quality fish, beautifully cooked. I recommend the tasting menu for its value! Very friendly and attentive staff.

We had a lovely dinner at I Cuochi. The food was delicious, and we couldn't wish for more nice and hospitable staff; they were amazing. Would highly recommend.

A refined restaurant located in the heart of the historic center, just steps from Piazza De Ferrari, easily accessible with a short walk. Excellent hospitality, attentive staff under the expert guidance of the owner/chef. Interesting menu, with the option of tasting menus. Good value. I recommend it. Reservations are recommended.

Strolling through the alleys, we were drawn to the tasting menu hanging at the entrance. A charming place, with a few out-of-place details (a golden statuette in the dining room) and very friendly staff. Excellent and attentive service, and the descriptions of each course are appreciated. The menu and wine list are very comprehensive. Prices are in line with the quality and sophistication of the dishes.
It's a shame about the wax residue on the table, perhaps due to a candlelit dinner, and the photos of prostitutes from Palermo's brothels (not out of bigotry, but out of respect for female dignity: see Galimberti's Le cose dell'amore, chapter 6, amore e denaro).
We also didn't enjoy the final round of house liqueur: it seemed like a kind offer from the owner, but instead it was added to the bill. In this case, I would have preferred a digestif of my own choice.
The sea bass dish was missing the artichoke bed indicated on the menu.
These are minor sins, however, for an otherwise positive experience. for a dinner

We had a wonderful “Thanksgiving” in Genova for 9 people last night. Marco helped us select wines and a fixed menu for the evening. It was perfect! He gave us a wonderful description of the wines and i piatti diversi. A couple guests had dietary restrictions and the chefs accommodated them without any problems whatsoever. Complimenti a tutti I Cuochi.

All the dishes are delicious, delicate, and unique, even the simple trofie with pesto are exquisite. We'll definitely be returning.
