Excellent food and super friendly service! And that for very friendly prices. You taste authentic Italy in a ditto atmosphere in this family-run restaurant. Recommended!

Excellent home cooking, although the most “desired” dishes sell out quickly. The seating assignment could be improved to avoid confusion when waiting.

If this family has been running the tavern since 1910, there must be a reason! I discovered it by chance, returning from a trip to France, highway jammed, and still far from our home, we decided to stop. Walking under the arcades of Chiavari or reading the very interesting menu of the day with typical Ligurian dishes; even though it was Thursday, the place was already crowded at 7:30 pm, when I entered I could see that almost all of the people sitting at the tables were locals, and so I had no doubt that the food was good. Here you eat what there is that day, no menu, no wine list, no frills. The service is quick but friendly, the dishes simple but tasty, the atmosphere is that of home, or if you like, of an tavern. The bill does not disappoint, you pay, honestly, for what you eat A definitely nice discovery.

We have been going to Baiciotto for years and we always have a good time. Excellent traditional Ligurian dishes cooked with great skill and for this reason alone you have to go and eat there. In addition, it can be said that the prices of the dishes are very honest!!!

Location pulita , degli anni 60, personale gentile. Ho mangiato la farinata e devo dire , che è la migliore mangiata a Chiavari . Ottimi anche i ravioli al sugo e la cima alla genovese. Ottimo rapporto qualità/ prezzo

Osteria c'era una volta

22/08/2025: Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The waitress recommended excellent dishes with good quality, and they even customized our plate with the cut of pasta we wanted. The restaurant is completely family-run. The attention to customers is noteworthy; they even seated us outside even though the place was full. We ate: A Trofia with swordfish and eggplant Two plates of breaded anchovies Half a portion of Ligurian minestrone Bill: €53
19/08/2025: We had dinner on August 19th. It's a quaint place, but it's a shame about the plastic plants (in Liguria?). The service could be improved. The quality of the first courses was unsatisfactory: onion dominates everything!

06/09/2025: Excellent Ligurian specialties, from farinata to minestrone, from ravioli aü tuccu to fried anchovies... I was able to make a reservation, and I think it's much better to do so, given how busy it is... Truly a great place, also for introducing Ligurian cuisine to friends who are visiting from out of town!!! Prices are reasonable for the excellent quality of the dishes!!!
27/08/2025: The restaurant isn't affordable for the average person. I mention this for those who might still be misled about the nature of this former tavern, now a renowned restaurant. The price, however, is amply justified by the quality of the cuisine, which is simply superb. Farinata, vegetable fillings, anchovies: everything is simply delicious. The table service, however, leaves a bit to be desired. There's a certain improvisation, something that unfortunately has become increasingly common since COVID. Worse, since this is no longer a typical trattoria, diners aren't offered a menu. The waiter is sent with an order book, as if it were still a relatively inexpensive trattoria. Finally, I realize it's foolish to order beer in a place like this. But they can't even serve a bad beer.
