The "best" Chinese restaurant in Arona. It tastes better than most Chinese restaurants in Germany. We'll be back the next time we're in Arona.

The dishes are very good and a little different from the usual ones you find around, very spicy, and the location on the lake is very relaxing.

I think it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. Really delicious, generous portions, fast service, and friendly staff. They also have dishes you won't find in other traditional Chinese restaurants. For example, I love the fried beef en papillote. Highly recommended.

The food was really good and the staff were very nice but they were extremely slow, I ate all the courses I ordered alone, when I finished the first course after at least 10 minutes my partner's first course arrived... what a shame

Having lived in China, I've always had a soft spot for Sichuan cuisine: bold, spicy, and intense flavors that captivated me. Upon returning to Italy, however, I struggled to rediscover those authentic sensations: many Chinese restaurants limited themselves to versions "softened" for the local palate. Ton Lu Ren, on the other hand, was the place that came closest to that experience: despite the inevitable minimal adaptations to Italian tradition, the dishes truly possess the character and strength of Sichuan. The restaurant offers both an à la carte menu and two set menus: a first course (choice of appetizer, first course, and second course) for €20, and a more comprehensive one with a side dish and sorbet for €24. We chose the first course, adding grilled ravioli: crispy, delicious, among the best we've ever tasted. Among the appetizers, the spicy roast duck and the beef in spicy oil were the most surprising: soft, juicy, and with a flavor intensity perfect for those who love spicy food. The rice noodles with seafood, while good, were more akin to those at other Chinese restaurants. The main courses, however, were exceptional: the pan-fried beef with vegetables was the highlight of the evening, with a strong Sichuan peppercorn, tender meat, and crisp, flavorful vegetables. The sautéed veal served in a barrel was also excellent. The service deserves praise: the staff were friendly, smiling, and always available to carefully explain each dish. The portions were generous, as you can see from the photos, and the prices were very fair: with drinks, we paid €28 each. In conclusion, an experience I highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience the true flavors of Sichuan here in Italy.

I tried Ton Lu Ren in Arona, a Chinese restaurant specializing in Sichuan cuisine, and I was truly impressed! You can choose between the à la carte menu or the set menu, both generous and affordable. The cuisine is delicious, authentic, and very flavorful, with generous portions that will satisfy even the hungriest of eaters. The staff is extremely kind and attentive, always available to recommend the best dishes. Their signature dishes, such as the "fire bowls" or the barrels, are highly recommended, offering a unique experience for those who love the intense flavors of Sichuan. A place definitely worth trying again and again!
