We booked dinner at Ape Vino e Cucina during the Alba White Truffle Fair and were thrilled. The location, in the heart of Alba, is refined and welcoming; the ambience is elegant, and the service impeccable in its attentiveness and courtesy. The welcome from the kitchen and the desserts offered at the end of the meal were both very welcome—small details that truly make a difference. All the dishes we ordered lived up to our expectations: quality ingredients and meticulous preparation. The bill was fair and consistent with the level of service and the overall experience. We highly recommend this place and will gladly return.

First time in Alba, but I'll definitely be back. Especially for the Ape Vino e Cucina experience. Everything was excellent, with excellent service and advice from Asia.

Nice and trendy place in the heart of old town. Has truffle specialties during the season. The service is friendly and attentive. The bar has an outdoor area, a small one also in winter. Pet friendly.

We happened upon this lovely restaurant for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The location on the square is fantastic, the service was absolutely stellar, and the food was delicious. Our waitress was very kind to explain to us the local specialties and how they were prepared. We particularly enjoyed the veal with the tuna sauce, as unusual as it sounds. It was fantastic.. the steak with truffles was perfect. One of the best meals we had in Italy during our 3 week tour.

Menu semplice, ma con ingredienti di altissima qualità. Vino molto buono. Il servizio è a dir poco eccellente, il personale è molto cordiale, l’accoglienza e l’ospitalità sono sicuramente uno dei punti forti di questo ristorante. Ci sono stati offerti sia l’entrée che la piccola pasticceria finale. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo e ovviamente la location merita tantissimo, con un’atmosfera tranquilla e rilassante.

07/08/2025: As an American living in France, I was thrilled to find somewhere that actually knows how to use a smoker! BarBees was a dream. The menu was amazing. We tried the mixed platter, the brisket, and the homemade hazelnut ice cream. It was the most beautiful marriage of American and Italian styles. You won’t regret it. Go.

02/09/2025: We used a voucher for one night but ended up staying four. The inn's strength is the friendliness of the owners, two hard workers with a great deal of creativity in organizing. The cuisine is excellent, light, and always varied. Comfortable rooms with a stunning view of the valley. There's a lovely wellness area and play area. We really hope to return. The Maira Valley is a gem.
