Antigua In Sovico

Welcoming place and very good food. The 3 stars are for the service, which wasn't up to par: the waiter wasn't very polite, and when I asked for information about the gluten-free menu (one of us is celiac), he responded in an annoyed tone, or rather, I couldn't even understand what he was saying. My request had been very simple: "Can I order meat? Where do you cook the meat? Do you serve anything else?" Again, the answer was a snotty one, as if I'd asked a stupid question. During dinner, the attitude remained snotty, and a friend of mine had her plate taken away several times while she was still eating (it wasn't even 11 on a Saturday night). This immense rush to clear the plate, however, meant that no one asked us if we wanted dessert or coffee; we had to ask ourselves. We also had an unpleasant experience when it came to drinks: we ordered them and after over 20 minutes of waiting, they still hadn't arrived, so at this point, annoyed, we went to the cashier and, despite asking to cancel the order, were told that they still had to be paid for and were already taken. With our coats on, the cashier asked me, "Where do I bring the drinks to your table?" In short, the service needs to be improved, especially since everyone is so good at acting great, and then he poured the wine with drips falling, and I, who had tasted it, had a piece of cork in my glass. Honestly, I had the impression that if we had been a group of men or adults, they would have treated us with more respect. It's a shame, because for a dinner costing around €200, you expect different attention.

We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with the whole family. And what better choice than Antigua? I knew I was on the right track: Simone and his entire staff were so friendly and helpful, the location beautiful, and the menu excellent. Every request was met with warmth and elegance, and the staff were excellent, ensuring nothing was missing. We and all our guests were completely satisfied. Thank you!

Let's start by saying that I find the place very beautiful; it feels like something out of time—and I'm a fan of Canonica. I'd been wanting to go to this restaurant for a long time, so the hype was huge. I took advantage of a promotion where I'd get 50% off the food. They couldn't find our reservation at the door, and their boss was yelling at his employees, not ashamed that we could hear him. They "offered" us a prosecco while we waited... I should also point out that we arrived well in advance. They let us sit, but I've never seen the waiters smile, and it's really unfortunate because you always wonder how they must be treated to appear so unhappy. The quality of the food isn't poor, the dishes are even beautiful, but in my opinion the prices aren't justified. These aren't bistro dishes, but rather those of a good trattoria. Would I go back? No. P.S.: They gave us a receipt with the total, not the amount we ordered. But that's okay; I won't be going back.

I was at this place a few days ago with a friend of mine... the atmosphere is very nice (especially inside). The chairs outside should be changed and cushioned because they are really uncomfortable... we stayed for both an aperitif and dinner... of the two main courses, only one was available: grilled chicken (good, of course), but the food selection was limited...

Elegant venue, friendly and professional staff, excellent quality dishes, exceptional and perfectly cooked meat... prices slightly higher than average... recommended

Worth it, beautiful internal courtyard for outdoor dining. Inside, the vaulted brick ceilings are very evocative. The food is excellent, especially the grilled meats. Very good!!! The staff is extremely kind and helpful, and they're committed to pampering their customers. Top marks!
