Anticogallo In Arona

Hidden among the streets of the center of Arona we had lunch in this small, very suggestive and very characteristic place. To accompany our lunch, an appreciated background music from the 60s. On the advice of the Chef we consumed two first courses, exquisite, the cockerel with potatoes, very good well cooked, half a bottle of wine, a bottle of water and two bitters for a more than fair price € 75.00 Recommended. A very pleasant discovery in Arona. During a Sunday stroll, looking for a restaurant, we catch sight of their sign, and curiosity wins. In a side street of the small street parallel to the lakeside, we find this very charming restaurant. Lights, details, furnishings, everything captures our attention. The menu with the right amount of courses, varied and well-assorted, is an excellent calling card. We ask for 1 table, fortunately the last one available. The service is informal and kind, without too many frills but excellently present and friendly. The atmosphere and music are absolutely to our liking. 2 appetizers, sirloin with tuna sauce, and tongue in green sauce, both very welcome. 1 first course, tagliarin asparagi guanciale e pecorino, excellent. 1 second course, pluma iberica, a cut of meat that few know and that when we find it is always ordered, expertly prepared. 2 desserts, gorgonzola ice cream with walnuts and honey, cheesecake. 2 coffees. All the dishes were expertly prepared, excellent both in the workmanship and in the presentation, the quality of the raw materials shines through in every taste. Happy to have found an excellent little place to definitely revisit on future visits to Arona. Account in line with the experience lived.

An excellent dinner, good food and genuine cuisine, intimate and refined atmosphere, I would say that the quality/price ratio is there.

Intimate restaurant with internal courtyard, welcoming and simple. The owner is very kind. The food was tasty and flavourful: the lamb shank melted in the mouth and the risotto creamed in the cheese wheel was delicate. Typical Piedmontese cuisine that tastes like home, very well cared for.
