ANTICO TRAVAGLIO In Monteriggioni

We were passing through Monteriggioni and stopped for lunch at this beautiful restaurant in this beautiful village. The service and courtesy were exceptional, and the dishes were truly unique. The Tuscan ravioli with truffle were truly exquisite! Highly recommended!

Six stars for the service! We were treated very kindly and got good recommendations - including advice on what not to do (I accidently wanted to order something that would be too big for two persons and they kindly let me know that it'd likely lead to food waste - happy to stop that from happening ☺️) On the table next to us sadly we had an American group being very denigrating to the staff for not speaking fluent English (which they actually do) and ordering them to write down what he was saying in paper in a tone that gave me goosebumps. The staff managed to stay respectful and pleasant even in such an unpleasant situation which I admire them for - I wouldn't have been able to do the same. Also - excellent food, we had steak and hare with artichoke, amongst the best we had this trip. Would recommend and would come back.

One of the nicest restaurants on the Tuscany route, we ate here in this little village, everything was very fresh and delicious, I recommend the fried polenta and ossobuco as well as the tiramisu, Marco the waiter is the best 🙏🏼

Absolutely lovely experience - the very kind staff was so friendly and helpful and suggested some excellent local wines. We chose from the specials - fantastic polenta fritto with local porcini mushrooms to start, then two perfect pasta dishes. Sitting outside in the main square was so pleasant. Just a perfect last lunch in Italy.

Amazing food Had the polenta chips topped with mushrooms and steak topped with mushrooms. What a perfect meal and perfect service and super friendly. Highly recommend and would go back based on the amazing staff.

Good restaurant with great food.

Excellent Tuscan cuisine in a unique setting. I think I ate the best tripe I've ever had (I still think about it). We also had spleen crostini, which were definitely more delicate than the liver ones. The local cured meats were excellent. The fillet with porcini mushrooms, with two caps (not the usual chopped stems), was wonderful. The service deserves 10 stars. Excellent, highly recommended!

Fantastica scoperta in centro a Monteriggioni. Bella location, cibo tipico e veramente eccezionale. Noi abbiamo preso pici con briciole di pane e pancetta, filetto alla griglia e tagliata rucola e grana: tutto fantastico. Personale gentile e sorridente, ti fanno sentire come a casa. Buon rapporto qualità-prezzo.

C'ero già stato a Pasqua 2024 e si riconferma un ottima scelta. Cibi buoni, ottima selezione di vini, staff supergentile, servizio veloce, bella location.... il prezzo è nella media, ma qui ci si alza da tavola convinti di averli ben spesi.
