Antico Ristorante Beccherie In Treviso

My girlfriend and I had a perfect evening. The atmosphere and staff were very friendly and available to answer any questions. The food was truly delicious and refined, using typical local ingredients. The only downside is the price of the dinner (rather above average), but for a place of this caliber, it's definitely good value.

A very well-presented place, perhaps even aiming to be a chic one, we go because they say this is the place for the original tiramisu, just as it was invented. We enter at 1:45 PM, the place isn't crowded, and ask for a seat inside, but they ask us what we'd like to eat. We reply that we want tiramisu and are told that inside seating is only available for appetizers (a choice that needs reconsidering). We sit outside where there's a lamp (which doesn't provide much heat). Anyway, we order two tiramisu. Let's get straight to the point: I've had better. It's too full of cream (as you can see from the photos), even though it has an excellent consistency. The Recioto della Valpolicella pairs well, although I have to say that both the tiramisu (€9) and the very small glass of Recioto (€8) are beyond their value.

The food was excellent. The famous tiramisu did indeed live up to its standards. Service was a little slow and patchy at times, with long wait in between courses. Servers were a little cold where one would be expecting the warm Italian smile. They were not rude or unfriendly, just a little bit more warmth would be nice.

A must-see if you're visiting Treviso. There's an indoor space for lunch, while for those who want an aperitif or to try their tiramisu, there are two tables inside and another outside (heat lamps are available in the winter). Very good tiramisu! Friendly and fast service.
