Family dinner. Very polite staff, patient even with children. Objectively very good dishes. Delicious fish. Online account, considering that we are in Venice. Advised.

We got recomondation by gondola driver, and we are realy surprised with food taste . All recommondation for this restaurant. One of the rarest with good quality of food in Venice.

Excellent trattoria a stone's throw from Piazza San Marco, excellent value for money. The kindness of the excellent staff, especially Michele at the reception. I recommend it!!!

Durante il nostro soggiorno a Venezia, abbiamo avuto il piacere di pranzare presso l'Antico Calice, un ristorante che incarna perfettamente l'essenza della cucina veneziana. L’atmosfera è calda e accogliente, con un tocco tradizionale che fa subito sentire a casa. Il menù offre un’ottima scelta di piatti tipici, preparati con ingredienti freschissimi e di qualità. Il servizio è stato impeccabile, il personale, cortese. La posizione centrale, a pochi passi dal Ponte di Rialto, lo rende una tappa perfetta sia per chi desidera un pasto veloce sia per chi vuole godersi una cena tranquilla. Un ristorante che sa combinare tradizione, qualità e ospitalità con un perfetto rapporto qualità / prezzo.

It was full of Japanese people. It was almost full after 1pm. It just wasn't what I expected. The pasta is for 2 people, but the portion is small. I think it's rather expensive. As is the case everywhere in Italy, we were constantly offered drinks and desserts. It was cold inside the store.

27/02/2025: For our last evening in Venice, we chose Trattoria Bar Pontini because of its great reviews and ratings. We were not disappointed. You have to make a reservation if you want to dine here. It is a very popular restaurant with good reason. The atmosphere is joyful and upbeat. They had a table ready and waiting for us. Fabio was a terrific owner – he sailed through the restaurant making everyone feel welcome. I ordered the Cotoletta Vitella all Milanese, which was huge and perfectly battered and fried. I also ordered an Insalata Mista. My husband enjoyed the Filetto di Manzo Gorgonzola along with roast potatoes. I have to tell you they were the best roasted potatoes we had in all of Italy. They were to die for – crisp – not greasy – just fantastic! He finished with an enormous Tiramisu. One thing is for sure, you will not leave hungry from Trattoria Pontini.
16/12/2024: Had a wonderful dinner here. Friendly service, great selection of seafood. My favorite meal during our time in Venice!

10/02/2025: Excellent restaurant in a quiet area. Authentic atmosphere, good table service, excellent service. The food was very good and plentiful. Generous portions and a fair price. I enjoyed the carbonara and the tiramisu. I would go back and recommend it to anyone passing through Venice. Excellent for dinner, calm and peaceful atmosphere. I loved the experience
09/02/2025: Traveling combining work and pleasure in Venice, we had dinner with a friend in this beautiful location. The brick interior is warm, the windows and the suggestive atmosphere, the service at the top, the food good (I had linguine with seafood, abundant, rich in fish and very good, my friend had a Milanese-style elephant ear cutlet, well fried), the plus is in the service, defined by someone in the reviews as old from the 80s... but this type of service is welcome in which they pay homage to you when you arrive with a welcome glass and at the end of the meal with sorbet to make up for your palate. Honestly, in a Venice that I find more expensive and limited in food every year, I'm still welcome to find an honest and welcoming restaurateur that you'll find when you come to the ancient Sacristy. Highly recommended!
