If I could give 10 stars, I'd gladly do so. A historic restaurant where everything is perfect...always...excellent food, impeccable service and hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. Always busy, so booking well in advance is recommended. I hope to return soon. Congratulations!
A nice place, with a trattoria-style feel (but the prices are much higher than you'd expect), the service is quick and clean, and the dishes are good, albeit small. One dish isn't enough to fill you up; you'll need at least two, which will significantly increase the bill.
All in all, it's very, very good. I'd go back, even if it only looks like a trattoria, because the prices and portions are almost those of a luxury restaurant. The menu is sophisticated and unique, and it's easily manageable. However, you can't justify the decidedly high price for a trattoria by saying it's because they use unique local ingredients.
I recommend it, but for special events or celebrations, in which case it's truly the ideal place.

The atmosphere is magnificent. Guests are greeted by the 91-year-old owner. We were very lucky to have a table available for reservation. The food is beyond praise. We will definitely be back!

A true Trieste trattoria with traditional dishes, a refined atmosphere, and professional service. The kitchen is open to the public. Mr. Mario (a ninety-year-old) welcomes us with his daughters. Try the trio of first courses and the Jota.
