Antica Trattoria Mascon In Arquata scrivia

We were looking for a restaurant to eat on our way back to Milan, and venturing off the highway, we came across Trattoria Mascon. We were greeted with a smile and enjoyed delicious food! I think it will become a regular stop on our way back from Liguria!

At this trattoria, the attention to detail and the deliciousness of its dishes make it a must-visit when passing through Arquata. The menu changes every time, and each time is a pleasant surprise. The staff is cheerful and friendly. Highly recommended.

A charming and welcoming little place. Exceptional food. My husband and I had an excellent Fassina appetizer with mushrooms and parmesan, followed by pork shank and sliced ​​beef (also Fassina), both with potatoes. Truly excellent. The final dessert: buckwheat cake with blueberry jam. Truly fabulous! We'll definitely be back.

We arrived, and for a quarter of an hour no one paid attention to us: we had to ask for water ourselves and couldn't understand the wait... then we realized the rooms were completely full. The place is popular with regulars, with a genuine and down-to-earth atmosphere. The prices are fair, and the menu is written on a blackboard that passes between the tables: a detail that adds a touch of authenticity. The portions are generous, and the traditional Piedmontese dishes—with a few Lombard and Ligurian influences—are flavorful and well-prepared. I had the handmade agnolotti del plin, and my friend had the chestnut maltagliati with pesto: both were excellent. With water and a quarter of wine (plenty), the bill came to €38. The bread and breadsticks are homemade, the bread basket is generous, the placemat is paper, and the service is simple but genuine. Also noteworthy is the large wine wall, with hundreds of bottles on display and a truly extensive selection. The kitchen and dining room are staffed exclusively by women, all smiling and passionate. The owner is incredibly sweet and kind, and her attentive service made us forget the initial wait in an instant. A perfect place to stop for lunch, authentic and unfussy. And if you're headed to the Serravalle outlet, stopping here is highly recommended: it's definitely worth it. Thanks again to Trattoria Mascon for the hospitality and the good food.
