This isn't just a simple wrought-iron decoration forgotten after Halloween. What you see in the photo is the last guardian of the Valley of Lost Flavors, known in local legends as the Weaver of Taste.
Here's his incredible story:
The Night of the Great Aroma Famine
Centuries ago, a terrible spell struck the kitchen of this trattoria: every dish that came out of the stove instantly lost its flavor. The pizza tasted like cardboard, the steak tasted like fog, and the wine turned to rainwater. The desperate owner invoked the spirit of the hill.
That night, between the high-tension wires and the steam from the wood-fired oven, Arachne of the Embers descended. She was no ordinary spider, but an entity made of meteoritic iron and beech smoke.
The Electro-Gastronomic Spider's Web
The spider didn't spin silk, but threads of culinary magnetism. He climbed the highest pole and began spreading his invisible web over the entire restaurant.
* His job? To intercept the scent molecules that were about to escape into the sky and send them straight back to the customers' plates.
* His diet: He doesn't eat flies, but he feeds on the envy of passersby who smell the grilled meat from the street.
* The secret of the pole: That crooked pole you see isn't a construction error. It was bent by the gravitational force of the spider's web itself, which every evening, at 8:00 PM sharp, vibrates at such a frequency that it makes the pizza crust perfectly crispy for a 50-meter radius.
The Iron Guardian
It is said that if a customer tries to leave without mopping up their plate, the spider's legs begin to move imperceptibly, emitting a sound similar to an out-of-tune violin that induces a sudden, irresistible desire to order dessert.
Today, the Restaurant Spider rests in the sunlight, pretending to be a sculpture so as not to scare off tourists. But he observes everything. He's the one who decides who deserves the most tender slice of meat and who, instead, will have to wait five minutes longer because "the oven is busy."
Want me to reveal what happens to those who try to take a picture of him on a Friday night at midnight?

Excellent carbonara, quick and friendly service, the only drawback is parking when the restaurant lot is full. Recommended for both a business lunch and a family dinner.

What can I say? A warm, welcoming, and refined atmosphere, a true trattoria of yesteryear! The dishes and the quality of the ingredients are top-notch, especially the meat dishes. Service is quick and efficient, with highly trained waiters, and Massimo, the owner, is truly someone who will put you at ease, while also continuing a historic family business. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience a truly historic trattoria, or even for those just passing through.
