A charming, historic trattoria with its ups and downs.
The dishes were perhaps too generous; some were not served as expected.
The service was extremely friendly and helpful, but not punctual.
The prices were high, considering it's in Milan but on the outskirts of town.
Finally, the line of garbage cans at the driveway (which you must pass through to enter the restaurant) was horrible.

We "discovered" the trattoria on the TV show and, intrigued, booked. The atmosphere was excellent: dated but very "warm," unlike newer establishments. The reception and service were impeccable, yet lacking the false (and sometimes unrealistic) luxury of today. Lombardy cuisine, including mondeghili (fried pasta), breaded porcini mushrooms Milanese-style, stuffed gnocchi (which piqued my interest on the show they won), and risotto with osso buco. To conclude, an excellent trattoria, and—I forgot—the oldest in Italy. We'll definitely be back, perhaps to try other dishes we see passing by at other tables.

Good food and great service. You have to wait between courses, but because there's nothing pre-cooked, it's a great place. Sure, there's nothing around, just the Monzino... but that's fine.

Trattoria Bagutto gives you the privilege of stepping back in time. Gemma's courtesy is respectful and welcoming. The food is excellent, plentiful, with authentic flavors and fair prices.
Luckily, you immerse yourself in the place and the kindness of the people who work there, from the chef to the service, enough to force you to ignore the folly of what they're building around you, with no respect or concern for the preservation of tradition and the
landscape. I highly recommend this culinary experience. 🤍
