The old tavern is always a guarantee. I've returned here after years, and the food remains just as good. Sure, the prices used to be more affordable, but considering the quality of the meat, you're paying a fair price. Recommended.

The tavern is located in the center of Viterbo. The interior is striking, all stone. The menu is almost entirely meat-based, from every type and source. We ordered a medium-rare tagliata (rather tough for my taste), chicory (decent), baked potatoes (good), and desserts (good). The place quickly fills with the smell of meat, which lingers in the room, probably because there's insufficient ventilation. The staff was rather brusque and unsympathetic, one young woman in particular. The quality/price ratio was decent.

Superb meat served on a soapstone grill, which retains heat for a long time and keeps the steak flavorful and warm. The old-fashioned table area with its arched vaults and tuff stones is distinctive. It's a shame the adjacent room is completely modern, but that's fine because at least there are more tables. The girls serving the tables are friendly and quick. The place is overall pleasant, but it would be perfect if the restrooms were updated.

We went to Termi dei Papi and then found this restaurant because of a recommendation on Google. This place was overbooked on Monday night! This place is delicious! They really know a lot about beef. It’s a little on the expensive side if you ask me but second to none in service and flavor.

The meat is top notch, but if you prefer the first courses, the hare ragù was spectacular. The waiters, who were very friendly and polite, deserve special mention.

It was my first time trying the Antica Taverna, and I was really happy. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and the food was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be back ❤️

The charcuterie and cheese platter was well-stocked and of high quality. The sliced steak and fillet were certainly very good; more experienced customers can even choose the cut of meat to be cooked. The place was poorly ventilated and odors lingered; the bathroom could use an update. Almost all the staff were friendly and helpful, except (in my/our experience) one employee (also a cashier) who was very dismissive and lacking in empathy. For example, she didn't provide any of the requested clarifications and was clearly annoyed and arrogant, as if we were poor idiots. When changing the cutlery, she "dropped" them all on the table. The food was okay, the place wasn't.
