It's not sophisticated, but precisely because of this, it manages to convey a sense of comfort and simplicity that immediately makes you feel at ease. The service is truly impeccable: the staff is attentive, smiling, and ready to passionately explain the dishes. They always recommend the best of the day without being intrusive, and make you feel pampered throughout your dinner. The kitchen is the heart of Antica Taverna. The dishes are prepared with fresh, quality ingredients, and you can tell there's a strong focus on tradition. I started with a mixed antipasto that included cold cuts, local cheeses, and homemade pickles: a great way to begin and savor the authenticity of the products. For my first course, I chose the pappardelle with wild boar ragù, and I must say it was simply delicious: fresh pasta, rich and flavorful sauce, just as traditional cuisine demands. The tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms is also a must for lovers of autumnal flavors: the aroma and texture of the mushrooms are the true highlight of the dish. For the second course, the braised beef in Barolo was a true triumph: tender meat that melts in your mouth, with a rich and aromatic sauce that perfectly complements the meat. The side dishes are also well-crafted, especially the roast potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which are the perfect complement to any dish. The homemade tiramisu was the perfect dessert to end a truly homey dinner. Light cream, just the right amount of coffee, and a perfect balance. The prices are fair and in line with the quality and quantity offered. It's not a cheap place, but the quality of the cuisine and the atmosphere, which offer an authentic experience, absolutely justify it.
