Antica Porchetteria Granieri 1916 In Firenze

Couldn’t walk past this place when we saw the porchetta. Weren’t even very hungry. But we had to share a sandwich. It was amazing well seasoned and juicy pork. Beautiful fresh focaccia. It was so good in the morning that we were walking past in the afternoon and had stop and share another. The afternoon one did not live up to the morning though I think the bread was of coarse not as fresh. But what let it down I think was the person putting that sandwich together.

I ordered the pork sandwich capoccia and the truffle pork sandwich magnifico. The truffle flavor was very strong, but the pork was cold and a bit dry.

It wasn't a place I had planned, but I was drawn to the sight of the whole pig and decided to visit. There are no vegetables, but it comes with cheese and a sufficient amount of pork meat. Only one sauce is provided as standard, but other sauces can be added if desired. I like spicy food, so I asked for spicy sauce, but it wasn't spicy at all. People who are sensitive to the unique smell of pork may find it difficult to eat. I tend to eat anything unless it's really bad, so I enjoyed it. Aside from the taste, there wasn't a good place to sit and eat nearby, so I think I spent a lot of time finding a place to sit rather than ordering a seat.
