A lunch that turned into a true journey of flavors. We ordered a risotto with clams and watercress, perfectly cooked and enriched with a lemon powder that enhanced each flavor with delicacy and precision. The mezzé paccheri with Trapani pesto and shrimp were a delight for the palate: the generous and intense sauce literally forced me (happily) to mop up the bread with the delicious bread served in a beautifully decorated basket. If I may make a small comment: I would have preferred the paccheri smooth instead of ridged, but the flavor was excellent nonetheless. To top it off, a ricotta Bavarian cream with fig jam and a crispy wafer hiding chunks of chocolate: a true treat for the taste buds. The location is elegant, understated, and meticulously crafted. I particularly appreciated the lunch served on the bare table, without a tablecloth, with distinctive yet lightweight tableware and thin, clear, perfect glasses. The restrooms also deserve special mention: wonderful and with a retro feel, perfectly in keeping with the refined style of the restaurant. The service was fast, attentive, and precise. We were initially served a small welcome from the chef: a taste of veal with tuna sauce accompanied by focaccia and fennel breadsticks—a welcome and well-executed gesture. Well done, truly. An experience I highly recommend and hope to repeat soon.

Excellent food, a refined atmosphere, but above-average prices and a somewhat secluded location. We went to Antica Osteria Il Monte Rosso for lunch on a Sunday. We had reservations, but the place was quite quiet, with several tables available (not a given in the area, where many restaurants were full). We ordered two first courses: risotto with clams and watercress and mezzé paccheri with pesto and shrimp. Then we shared a dessert: a ricotta Bavarian cream with a cannoli shell and fig jam. The food was the highlight of the experience: perfectly cooked, balanced flavors, quality ingredients, and truly meticulous presentation. If we were to rate the cuisine alone, it would be a full 10. The portions were adequate for a light lunch overlooking the lake, the service was courteous and discreet, and the table setting was beautiful, although we lacked proper tablecloths. The bathrooms are clean and well-kept, with disposable towels—always a welcome touch. We spent €65 for two, with a €4 cover charge per person. Prices are significantly higher than the local average (about 30% higher), and on Sundays, only the à la carte menu is available, with no tourist menu. The only downside: parking isn't easy, and the restaurant is located a bit outside the tourist hotspot, so you'll need to plan your trip. In short: excellent cuisine from every perspective, a refined atmosphere, and satisfactory service. Four stars for the price (high, but justified by the quality of the food) and location, but if you love good food... you can't go wrong here.

A very nice restaurant in every way! Far from the more touristy places like Baveno or Stresa, it's nice to find yourself in a more authentic Italian atmosphere! Very welcoming staff, fast service, and high-quality cuisine.

Overall, the food wasn't bad, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, in my opinion, the menu wasn't suitable for the summer season and was executed with many technical inaccuracies. The restaurant's positive reputation raised expectations, but it seemed like a novice chef was in the kitchen. Coincidence? I hope so... for their sake.

A Suna ci sono diversi locali affacciati sul lago, la maggior parte turistici ma alcuni di buona qualità come il Monterosso ! A pranzo praticamente completo (offerta di menu a tariffa economica) ma noi ci siamo andati per il servizio “à la carte” ed abbiamo così gustato diversi piatti veramente pregevoli. Ambiente pulito e personale simpatico, accoglienza cortese e servizio diligente. Ritorneremo 👏👏
