Very nice place, and the staff is attentive, helpful, and friendly.
We started with the platter and pinzini, and I must admit that the cured meats were truly high-quality, but the pinzini were spectacular, so we ordered seconds.
Then the tagliata with balsamic vinegar and beef with pancetta were fantastic, tender, and tasty, one of the best I've ever eaten.
I highly recommend it.
It's best to book on weekends, as the place was fully booked.

I had lunch here, and it was an experience that goes far beyond simply eating well: it's a true immersion in the heart of medieval Ferrara. Nicole was our main server - her father is the chef. Superb meal, one of the finest that we have had in Italy, and we have been coming here for almost 15 years. We mostly stay in Tuscany, which we love, but this year we have decided to branch out and experience Emilia-Romagna, which we cannot praise highly enough. We loved Bologna, but Ferrara is a small-scale, hidden gem by comparison. We loved our dinner here. The pumpkin flan was exquisite, and our steak was out of this world (the meat was from Ireland). Overall, completely and thoroughly recommended.

Looks easy, but it's very very hard to master. Gnoccetti here are typical of the kind of dish you'll find all over the world. What is rare is the precision with which the making, from selecting potatoes to the plate makes a difference. You can spend months of your life trying to get the perfect bite resistance from these little wonders, and you simply won't. There's so much to this, not to mention the expert guanciale that is rich and tasty, and yet shed not one drop of its oily yumness into the sauce. And let me say, you shouldn't even bother to try to make this sauce. You won't find this cheese, and you'll break the sauce and won't perfectly time and drain the gnocchetti anyway. The rest of the dishes measure up very well. And while you're not bothering to attempt these dishes, it will take you hours to get the consistency of the batter right, so the coating is crisp, with nothing left behind between it and the same and zucchini flowers. No offence, but your zucchini flowers would have wilted in the waiting, whereas these were handled perfectly. Even the simple spinach has background flavours and colour that comes only with perfect handling. Charming room and service. Wish I didn't have to leave.
