Antica Trattoria da Beppe – A dive into the authentic flavors of Emilia!
If there is a place where time stands still and the palate celebrates, it is undoubtedly Antica Trattoria da Beppe. Nestled in the generous heart of Modena, this trattoria is much more than a restaurant: it is a hymn to tradition, a warm embrace of flavors, aromas and authenticity.
The tigelle are simply perfect: warm, fragrant, with that scent that makes you close your eyes at the first bite. Accompanied by cured meats of embarrassing quality (coppa, prosciutto, textbook mortadella) and the legendary cunza, they immediately take you back to the peasant tables of the past, the real ones.
And then come the crescentine (or fried gnocco, for foreigners): light, puffy like clouds blessed by the Emilian sky, served hot and crunchy, ready to welcome every good thing. The lard that melts on top? A stroke of genius. Or of the heart.
The service is frank, smiling, genuine. Here no one recites: you eat well, you drink better (the selection of local Lambruscos is remarkable!) and you leave with the silly smile of someone who has just made peace with the world.
At Beppe you don't dine: you celebrate life.

During the visit to the vinegar factory, the restaurant was mentioned by some visitors who had eaten there.
Curious, we went when it opened (because we hadn't booked!) and we were lucky because a table was free.
We ate excellent tigelle with its seasoning (lard, minced meat and rosemary and garlic cut/minced with a knife) and then as first courses we had a portion of pappardelle with ragù (he) and I a very good portion of passatelli in broth.
What can I say: absolutely promoted.

Ristorante di Cucina tradizionale Modenese. Ci sono stato a pranzo in compagnia di un collega. Interni piacevoli, recentemente ristrutturato. Servizio cortese e rapido. Abbiamo mangiato ottime tagliatelle al ragu' ed eccellenti tortellini in brodo. Buone anche le tigelle. Ampio parcheggio disponibile. Prezzi adeguati alla qualita'.
