Antica Bottega Di Primo In Arezzo

I wanted something different, so I tried Primo's shop. All I can say is SPECTACULAR! Warm, freshly baked schiacciata with expertly cured loin (the artisanal kind that has all the pepper, salt, and herbs on the outside, for those in the know), grilled zucchini with parsley and garlic, a few mixed mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in oil. CONGRATULATIONS! A rare place that captures the flavors of Arezzo.

Counter with cured meats and the famous porchetta. They also have a few tables inside for seating. They also offer platters, or they make sandwiches of your choice (that is, you choose what to add and they prepare it). The problem is that there are no prices, so you might end up with a rather high bill. Very superficial table service... the porchetta is in the refrigerator, cold, so it's heated up on the spot, and it takes a long time to get a sandwich... the wait times are not short. This historic shop could be better maintained with staff in uniform; it would have a different impact. They also have drinks.

Sandwiches are mediocre and not of good quality. There are better and more affordable places in the country. The price is not exactly fair either.

Rustic place, well-stocked counter, friendly staff. We ordered two sandwiches, which were very good, and reasonably priced, perhaps a little too high.

The restaurant is rustic and a bit small, but the food is homemade and healthy. I recommend the first course platter with cold cuts, cured meats, and cheeses. Two people (including a first course platter for two, two beers, and two coffees) €57.
