Antica Bottega del Vino In Verona

The food is delicious and that’s what you want from a restaurant. The wine we had was also great but I do think the wine list tome they give you was a little pretentious - it would have taken me the whole meal to look through it! However, they are happy to recommend wines for you. I asked for a ripasso but they initially showed me a valpolicella superiore but don’t be afraid to turn down their choice and stick to your guns. The resultant ripasso we had was excellent. Coffee not bad too. Whilst English is spoken we did use more Italian than other places - not a problem as we have been learning Italian but more for info. Tables are quite packed in but just on the edge of ok. Service was also a little slow, so factor that it if you are going on somewhere from the restaurant. Knowing all this would I go again … well yes, as the food alone is worth overlooking the other eccentricities.

Incredible place, besides the wonderful food and wine, the politeness and kindness of the waiters. At the end, we visited the wine cellar, one of the largest in Italy. It's well worth it.

I'm guessing this should be an institution of the city. A bit difficult to get in without reservation but once you're in you get top-notch service and reliable cooking. Oh and if u love wine this is a place to come to - the wine list is as thick as an old school encyclopedia. A must-visit when in Verona. I think this is a place that you wont easily come across outside of Verona! Enjoy the food and particularly the wine that is on offer.

Very atmospheric especially in the evening . Excellent wine selection as expected. Food was good but nothing extraordinary. Service was friendly. Definitely book in advance as it’s very popular with tourists.

Renowned in Verona, evident by the number of people on a Tuesday night. Excellent service, very attentive and warm staff. Wine selection is great, but food is rather salty.

Hands down the best wine selection and the wine by the glass options are vast and reasonably priced. Did I mention they have over 10 Amarone wine by the glass? Always busy, so plan ahead and be patient
