Ammàri - Racconti e cucina di mare In Mazara del vallo

A wonderful experience, exceptional red prawns, excellent couscous, and excellent pasta with anemones. Reasonable prices.

We returned to this restaurant where we'd had lunch a year earlier, where we'd tasted flavorful couscous with a delicious broth full of soup-worthy fish pieces. This time, however, the broth wasn't quite up to par, and there were only a few fish scraps, with a prawn garnish. The other two starters were good: spaghetti with sea urchins and red prawn bisque, and spaghetti with colatura sauce and red prawn tartare. The mixed fried fish was dry and featured a variety of fish. For dessert, we had the three-layer cake, which was very good. The staff was always very friendly, the service courteous, and the dining room was well-organized. The bathrooms weren't particularly clean, and both soap and toilet paper were missing. This is a place I'd like to return to for the positives I found, and I hope the criticism is constructive and aimed at improving, because it's a place with many strengths. The quality-price ratio is decent (considering the fish is fresh, as it's not cheap).

Beautiful location and really good food. I recommend the raw shrimp and the pasta with colatura and shrimp tartare. The service isn't very attentive.

The fish is excellent quality and absolutely fresh. However, the first courses lack a bit of flavor and punch, even though the pasta is fresh.

Excellent venue, helpful staff, and fair prices for what we ate. The back location is very intimate and elegant. I recommend it.

Excellent fish couscous, and the cook is passionate; he explains the dish and the different ways to eat it.

I always enjoy returning to Ammàri, and it's always a testament to their kindness, professionalism, and quality. The perfect blend you'd expect. Kudos to the team, who are always improving.

The raw ingredients were exquisite and undoubtedly of high quality. We had a delicious red shrimp tartare and a sandwich, which unfortunately fell far short of our expectations due to the bread not being fresh and the overall taste of the sandwich not being particularly refined. We found the shrimp good. The service was slow and the atmosphere a bit too pricy. The price was a bit too high.
