Every time we go to Val Maira we take the opportunity to stop by Alp to taste their excellent beer and also their excellent cuisine.

It almost seems like a dream that at 4 PM, along with a beer (which is also very good), they kindly offer you three different sandwiches and a platter. Which, in the Varaita Valley, is a dream. Thank you.

A simple yet elegant atmosphere with a wonderful fireplace. The beers were excellent and varied. We ate some good dishes (salted meat, gnocchi, goulash, and panna cotta) at reasonable prices. A must-visit if you're in the Maira Valley.

20/06/2026: Lovely place, excellent staff, and very good food. The drinks too!
17/06/2026: A lunch stop on the way down from the Fauniera hill on a Vespa allowed my brother and I to enjoy an excellent appetizer and delicious polenta. The staff were very friendly and the scenery spectacular. Highly recommended!

11/06/2026: The food is good. What surprised me is the front of house staff were not welcoming. Didn’t acknowledge that we had a reservation. None of them were smiling. Happy that we were there spending money on food which we could do anywhere at many good restaurants in Alba. None of the staff came over and asked how our food was or if we needed anything. Didn’t know who ordered what for only two of us. Management sets the tone in any business and they missed the mark on this one. If we had a great experience we might have made a reservation at their sister restaurant Piazza Duomo.
10/06/2026: As always, I booked through Mr. Andrea. The service and lunch were fantastic. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I can't wait to go back.
