When I'm in Udine for work, I never miss the delicacies of Trattoria Alla Vedova. The consistently top-quality ingredients, attentive service, and historic atmosphere are always a great way to end a long day at work.

The trattoria has a long history and tradition, which is evident in the decor and menu. Traditional cuisine without any concessions to trendy trends, service appropriate to the setting, and fair prices. It's hard to find places like this.

Typical and beautiful setting
Spinach flan with walnuts
Nettle ravioli, cjarsons, venison goulash, tiramisu, and chocolate and pear cake, all washed down with Friulano and Merlot.

A historic venue that maintains the quality that has always distinguished it. Nothing to complain about the menu overall, nor about what we had the pleasure of tasting. Appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, everything was perfect! (Of course, quality comes at a price, as it should be.) Table service was prompt and discreet, but the wait for the bill, at the end of the evening, seemed excessive. An unsolicited tip: tradition and history are fine, but the atmosphere feels a bit too old-fashioned. Intimacy is fine, but it's a shame to focus so much on darkness rather than light.
The internal parking lot is very large, and I didn't notice any particular barriers for those who might have difficulty getting around independently.
Highly recommended!

The pleasure of still finding restaurants with the scent of burning wood. A stove like your parents' from about 60 years ago.
Traditional Friulian food, what more could you want?
