Five stars for the food, with a generous and varied menu ranging from meat to fish, featuring traditional Trieste dishes and more.
Unfortunately, the service is lacking. This traditional Osteria, established in 1955, has numerous patrons at the counter, which takes up the kitchen and dining room staff's time. The atmosphere is welcoming, with wood furnishings and furnishings perfectly suited to this type of establishment, but unfortunately, the large number of patrons at the counter takes up space in the dining room (we had a table near the entrance in front of the counter, with people standing near us) and also creates confusion. Therefore, don't expect a quiet atmosphere; it's a bit chaotic.
The food makes up for the above.

Informal, welcoming atmosphere, typical of a trattoria in the center of Trieste.
The food is spectacular, both meat and fish; you can't go wrong.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
The beers and wine selection are also excellent.
