TODAY 12 May we had lunch at the captain's tavern after a wonderful visit to the city of Siena. the lunch was excellent, the very kind staff was attentive to the needs of the guests, pappardelle with hare was remarkable, as were the other dishes we tasted. Recommended restaurant, excellent quality/price

On holiday in Siena and intrigued by Borghese's programme, we decided to have dinner here...what can I say...it far exceeded expectations! Truly excellent dishes, the pappardelle with hare and the pici alla Nana will remain in our hearts but without taking anything away from the second courses and desserts. Kind and friendly owner.. characteristic environment.. a nice discovery that will definitely make us return!

We chose this restaurant because it was the winner of "4 restaurants". In fact it is just as we expected: typical Sienese tavern with excellent traditional dishes and excellent wines. Welcoming service with Nicolò as an excellent host. Pappardelle with hare ragù sublime!

Good typical restaurant with authentic Sienese cuisine. We tasted the lamb, a ribeye and a truly excellent mix of cured meats. Well prepared dishes, quality ingredients and genuine flavours. Recommended for those looking for a traditional Tuscan experience

I give 5 stars regardless. I have a restaurant in Reggio Emilia. ( trattoria pizzeria ALLA STAZIONE) I thought I was the only one with a particular character. I thought I was the only one in this arduous profession to send away clients deserving of such a mandate.... I read the reviews...and I read the responses.....I'm on Niccolo's side. I finally know I'm not alone. Finally a manager who understood like me, that we are not slaves to the customers. Niccolò 🔝🔝🔝🔝 As soon as I'm in Siena I'll come and have lunch with you..

02/05/2025: Il nuovo nido … Che dire … In bocca al lupo la nuova location è deliziosa ed ancora più intima. L’accoglienza non è migliorabile perché siete il top. Vi meritate il meglio del meglio .
19/12/2024: Cenamos dos veces y nos encantó la comida! La pasta alla Gricia, los raviolis, el radicchio, las alcachofas, los pimientos y otros platos estaban muy sabrosos. Teníamos la ricota fresca con castañas y jarabe de mosto de postre y podríamos haber tenido fácilmente tres veces más. Marta era muy servicial y amable. Nos gustaría ir una y otra vez!

21/05/2025: We ended up here for dinner this evening. It's a small place that's also frequented by locals. The service isn't the fastest, as some people still have to help out in the kitchen. The food was okay, but I've had better food in the area for the price. We still had a fun evening, though that was mainly due to the other guests and the occasional slapstick antics of the waitresses.
19/05/2025: Had a lovely glass of wine here for €3, great value in Montepulciano.
