The food at Taverna del Capitano was incredible!! We were recommended the restaurant by a nearby shop owner and stumbled across it after visiting the Siena Duomo. The owner was wonderful and personable, the house wine was fantastic and the pasta is great! Anyone should visit this Tuscan gem!

A very simple trattoria in the heart of Siena, where we were greeted impeccably by Nicolò and his staff. They immediately made us feel at ease. The quality was excellent. The bill was commensurate with the quality of our food. Anyone who comes to Siena simply must eat here!

Wonderful! What can I say? My husband and I were intrigued by the display. We enjoyed an extraordinary meat paired with a truly respectable wine. Special mention goes to the owner, who guided us in our choices and allowed us to create a truly delicious and well-presented dinner. The atmosphere is welcoming and elegant. The price is fair. I recommend it!

A traditional Tuscan restaurant.
Excellent dishes, tasty and well-prepared, friendly and empathetic wait staff, and fair bill.
It's a bit spacious, but in the center of Siena, it's a place for everyone.
I liked it and recommend it.

Siena is always a pleasure for me to return to. Now that I've discovered Taverna del Capitano, it's even more reason to love this city. The extraordinary ribollita, with the addition of raw onion, was a remarkable touch of flavor. The homemade pappardelle with hare ragù was a delight, and I think I'll be dreaming about it for a long time. Top-notch cuisine, welcoming service, and the owner's smile in the dining room was as sweet as the excellent desserts. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

We stayed in Siena for a weekend.... we visited the center and a few museums... then we wanted to eat traditional food... my daughter saw the window and noticed it had the emblem of four Alessandro Borghese restaurants... since we look at it often, we decided to go in...
The hospitality was evident as soon as we opened the door; the friendly and very welcoming young woman helped us choose food, even for the children.
... Ciao, good food and impeccable service... we tried the pici and they were delicious... the desserts ended the lunch in style...
I'd say the price was fair for the location and the portions, which still filled us up...

Unpretentious place to taste typical Tuscan dishes. Limited vegetarian choices, as you would expect, but some nice hand made pastas. good desserts.
