A traditional tavern in Monza, I went on the recommendation of my host, who said it was frequented by locals. It really does seem much more authentic than other restaurants in the city. The experience wasn't particularly memorable, but I also have no complaints.

A historic restaurant in the very center of Monza. Spacious interiors, traditional furnishings, and a lovely outdoor seating area perfect for dining on warm days. The menu is quite extensive and features mostly traditional dishes. We ordered a Milanese cutlet, two risottos with ossobuco, and a saffron and sausage risotto. The risottos were good, perhaps a little overcooked. The ossobuco was excellent. The cutlet was okay, but a little moist inside, and the butter from the frying was barely noticeable. The house wine was so-so. We spent just over €25 each, a fair price!

We had a saffron risotto with sausage and a portion of pasta with game ragù for our first course. For our second course, we shared a portion of chicken with potatoes. The staff was very kind in splitting the portion of the second course between us. It's not a given that they'll do it; I've usually had them split a dish between two people and give me the dish to do it myself. We found the dishes tasty and plentiful, with very little waiting. In addition to the first course and second course, we also had two bottles of water, a Fanta, and two coffees for a total cost of about $10. Recommended also for its excellent location and service.

The restaurant is in the center near the cathedral. The service is good. The food is good. I recommend it. The calamarata wasn't calamarata; there weren't any calamari, but shrimp.

The risotto was really good, meat was so soft it was so delicious. But the veal with artichoke was just ok, the artichoke was the star of the dish instead of the veal.

Traditional menu, but also something else, excellent risotto alla monzese, excellent elephant ear. Every time we ate very well, various dishes, always kind and helpful.

They say that if you walk in and they don't speak a word of anything other than Italian, the restaurant is good. And they're right.
0 English, 0 Spanish, but what artistry in the kitchen!
8/8 for the dishes we ordered. All delicious.
The desserts were also very, very good.
The waiter was incredibly patient with us, and he did a great job making himself understood and helping us understand him.
As I said, friendly people and spectacular food 👌
Definitely on my list to return.
