During our vacation, we ended up here on the recommendation of a local. In hindsight, we understand exactly why. Filoni is not a restaurant that caters to tourists, but a place where locals love to come. You sit among Italian families and regulars, and that immediately creates a very different atmosphere. No fuss, no excessive luxury. Just good food, a warm welcome, and doing what Italy excels at. From the terrace, you have a beautiful view of Lake Bolsena. While looking out over the water, you taste dishes prepared with care, using fresh ingredients and pure flavors. No complicated frills, just honest Italian cuisine as you hope to find it during your vacation. Just keep it simple, that’s crazy enough already. That is precisely what makes this place so special. What perhaps surprised us the most was the price-quality ratio. In such a unique location, you might easily expect a tourist bill, but nothing could be further from the truth. You get delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, a breathtaking view, and all of that for a fair price. There are restaurants where you eat well. And there are restaurants that make your holiday just that little bit better. Filoni is one such place. A restaurant where you don't feel like you're just visiting, but that you are briefly part of Italian life. Are you near Lake Bolsena? Then treat yourself to this experience. Chances are, just like us, you will leave with a smile.

We had a very romantic dinner on the lake at sunset... This lakeside terrace has a certain charm. The food is delicious, with good ingredients and excellent preparation. It's a shame the owner was a bit sour around the room, a presence that ruined the relaxing atmosphere her staff creates. Let them do their thing; they're very good and professional. Recommended for a romantic or family dinner.

I went to "Filoni" Stella sul Lago as a couple several months ago, and today for a first communion. Excellent service, delicious, traditional, and abundant lake and seafood dishes. The atmosphere is also excellent, with a lakeside location and plenty of green space for children. I need to go back more often!

Maybe it was "off-season," but the restaurant was still fully booked. The wine list was extremely limited, with many missing; the offerings were mostly bulk. The seafood appetizers were prepackaged, the seafood rice was frozen, and only one dried-up shrimp. The grilled fish was tasteless. The price was too high for the quality. The atmosphere was noisy when crowded. The lakeside location is beautiful, especially in the summer.
