Al Tavolaccio In Bologna

I had a great time. The food was good, the service was attentive and friendly, without being intrusive. I really appreciate that there's no background music or televisions. It's a great place to chat with friends.

Quick service, kindness, good food and reasonable prices.

Landed in Bologna for a Radiohead gig and found this quaint, sweet looking place randomly, open late in the night, while taking a walk towards my apartment. Basically entered a restaurant which didn’t look like a restaurant but more like an original family kitchen, with that elusive touch of simplicity, grace, kindness and that warmth which evades modern restaurants these days. It felt as if I am sitting in my grandma’s kitchen with my family to have dinner. The entire staff was extremely well mannered and knew how to help out somebody who doesn’t speak much of Italian. And that’s the thing which I like so much about Italians, they are so compassionate and so kind at times, that it melts your heart. All of them were so so sweet. And the FOOD, omg!!!! they had pizzas on three pages of their menu, and I ordered one of them which was called Mobydick and it tasted heavenly (was tempted to order more). Their sea food pasta, bolognese ragu, affogato, espresso shot, pudding, everything was on point. I could see why Italian families with their kids, their parents, grandparents were thronging this place. So do yourself a favour, and do eat at this place, if you are in Bologna. You will not just get to eat authentic Italian cuisine here but experience the Italian way of life, while you are having that meal, and feel as if you are at home, no matter which part of the world you are from.

Good pizza, reasonable price, very friendly staff.

I went to this restaurant on a Sunday with my Ukrainian friends, and I must say the food was very good, including the marinara pizza I tried. I recommend eating here at least once in your life to anyone passing through or visiting Bologna. Congratulations on your work!

Good value for money. A bit noisy.

One of the best pizzas in Bologna, and the meat is also excellent, such as the fillet with porcini mushrooms. A little soundproofing would be nice.
