We drank an excellent Roero Arneis white wine (Giovanni Almondo) with tapas to accompany it.

While strolling through Neive, intending to avoid eating and relax after a day of fantastic tastings in the Roero, we came across the Al Nido della Cinciallegra wine bar in a lovely little square in the center. As we scanned the tables, we immediately said, "We could probably use another bite." And so, finally, we found ourselves enjoying what was the best dinner of our trip to the Langhe. Because it's a wine bar, don't expect too many pasta dishes or complicated main courses: here, simplicity blends with Piedmontese tradition, a perfect formula that captivated us with its quality. Wine, of course, is not lacking: countless bottles from the most diverse wineries in the area. The waiters are very good at recommending the right bottle based on your tastes, and so we were able to enjoy a Barbaresco that to call epochal is almost an understatement. As for the courses, we shared several different dishes to sample all the restaurant's strengths. The Fassona steak was delicious even without any sauce, a sign of the high quality of the meat. The veal with tuna sauce, tender and with a sublime tuna sauce, tasted like the one my grandmother, a true Piedmontese, makes at home. The tongue was a real highlight: soft, perfectly flavored, and paired perfectly with the salsa verde, creating the perfect blend I love about this dish when it's done well. The wild boar speck was also unique, yet very good, and especially the smoked duck breast—the latter a treat I recommend to everyone: distinctive in both flavor and texture, both delightful. The desserts were equally impressive: the Piedmontese bonèt is perhaps the best I've tried in all of Piedmont so far—and I'm not exaggerating—it's balanced in all its flavors. A gin and tonic with a local gin was a must to round out a dinner that gave a sense of epic closure to our Saturday wandering around the Langhe. The service was extremely friendly, fast, and attentive, as I said, in recommending the right wine. The price was reasonable, considering Neive has now become a popular tourist destination. Highly recommended.

We had an aperitivo and were satisfied. The local wines were good, the platter was plentiful, and the prices were fair. The cooked salami, however, wasn't good.

A truly wonderful place, where you can feel the care, passion, and authenticity in every detail. At Al Nido della Cinciallegra, the food is exquisite: authentic dishes, prepared with love and entirely in-house. The vitello tonnato was simply exceptional, delicate and flavorful, and the Russian salad was truly authentic, rich and delicious. The staff is extremely polite, welcoming, and attentive, making you feel immediately at home. An experience that combines quality, tradition, and human warmth. I will definitely return and highly recommend it.

Excellent little spot for an aperitif-dinner. Quality products! Exceptional charcuterie platter. The complimentary welcome gift was greatly appreciated. I would improve the service; they never explained the dishes to us, and we had to ask "What's this?" every time. The quality/price ratio was a bit high for some dishes! Overall, a positive experience.
