Al Moro In Trieste

It wasn't the first time I'd been to this trattoria, where, it must be said, the courtesy is a hallmark, as is the quality of the dishes: they are typical of Trieste's tradition (and therefore also Austro-Hungarian and Slovenian) and I'd say very well made, a little "rustic" so to speak. I absolutely must try the horseradish spritz, offered to me by a kind and knowledgeable young lady: I ​​gladly accepted it, because it piqued my curiosity, and I found it fragrant, fresh, sparkling, and thoroughly enjoyable. The bread gnocchi are excellent, with a variety of flavorful toppings (from roast to goulash), the breaded or grilled Lubjanske, the curry zucchini pie, the eggplant parmigiana, the crostini with Liptauer (a truly welcome addition), the desserts... but I'll be back soon to try more. In short: the atmosphere is welcoming, not formal, the service is courteous and punctual, the food is good, and, last but not least, the value is good. In short: well done!

Excellent traditional Trieste food! The service was quick, and the waiters were kind, helpful, and attentive. The aperitif was top! Highly recommended

Excellent food, courteous and attentive service. We went to this restaurant expecting a very spartan atmosphere, but instead the place is well-kept in every detail (even the cute signs in the restrooms). The waitress was very kind and even down-to-earth. On her recommendation, we ordered two spritzkren with a plate of chifeletti, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Then we had a lubianska with mixed salad, and a plate of marinated loin (off-menu) with potatoes in tecia. Everything was absolutely delicious. A bottle of water and a decaf. We spent a total of €57.50. All well-deserved!

Delicious, flavorful traditional Trieste dishes; we especially enjoyed the chifeletti and gnocchi with roast gravy and goulash. We've been several times this summer, and each time there's something interesting off-menu. The indoor dining room is small, while the pergola is larger for al fresco dining. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which unfortunately isn't easy to find these days. Reservations are recommended, either by phone, WhatsApp, or the website.

As expected. The gnocchi with goulash were excellent, as was the rest. Impeccable service. The only downside (in my opinion) was the cover charge (basically a napkin) of €5 for two people. Think about it.

After years of wanting to try Trattoria al Moro, we finally went for a family dinner. I must say the food was excellent, the service was attentive, and the price was absolutely reasonable. My only complaint, which led to the 4 stars, was that I found the automated reservation system quite annoying, as well as the constant WhatsApp confirmation messages and follow-up requests, which were objectively excessive.

Magnifica scoperta a Trieste! Bella trattoria tipica con cibo e specialità triestine. Ottimo servizio e cibo e da non trascurare la gentilezza del personale! Sicuramente se torneremo a Trieste la trattoria Del Moro sarà il nostro posto!!!
