Al Mazari In Siracusa

Food very good, but service very pushy/assertive on diners ordering most expensive items. I felt like we were over-charged. We were 11 in total. We ordered a 25th wedding anniversary cake only to find that it cost €120!! soooo expensive considering that this was 20% of our total bill!! They should have told us how much it would cost/we should have asked but expected something much simpler…apparently high end of the cost/kilo range. Our hotel no longer recommends the restaurant since its guests had similar issues to our own.

This is one of the rare restaurants where you enter as a client and you depart as friend. Food is excellent and reasonable prized. We recommend the whole seabass in the salt crust. But best is just talk to Guiseppe and he will quickly recommend something which is to your liking. We were so delighted with this restaurant and the team who runs the place, we returned a second time. We can truly recommend this hidden germ of a restaurant located in a quiet alley, not on one of the hectic main roads. Thank you Guiseppe and Team for two wonderful dinners.

Our tour guide recommended, and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was attentive and kind, the food— tuna tartar —lovely. Wine selection was stellar, pasta wonderfully spiced and with swordfish. Beautiful decor. Thank you.

Recommended as a good fish restaurant, the waiter asked what the best dish was, the whole staff argued))) but they offered pasta (video presentation) pasta for 3, I don't recommend it ((((

A magnificent restaurant, rightly listed in the Michelin Guide. Wonderful food, super friendly service, an extensive wine list, and extremely fair value. Not just a restaurant, but also a dining room with friends...

Food was delicious - came out shockingly fast though. The main waiter / manager was a bit abrupt in his answers and felt a bit rushed but he was nice enough.

Ambiente un po' piccino, ma ben organizzato con tavoli sia all'interno che all'esterno. Posizione strategica per essere ad un passo dal duomo, ma non inghiottito dalla confusione del passeggio che da sempre caratterizza l'isola. Andando al sodo: il servizio è stato rapido e curato, il cibo è buono e si nota l'attenzione per gli ingredienti. Perchè 4 stelle? Perchè ho provato uno dei piatti speciali e mi ha un po' deluso... gli darei 3 stelle. Il resto del cibo 4 stelle meritate e in particolare, da 5 stelle piene con chapeau finale: la tartare di gambero! Buonissima. Abbiamo pagato circa 45 a testa, prendendo un antipasto a testa e un primo/secondo con prosecco e acqua. Le porzioni non sono piccole, noi siamo usciti molto sazi.

Premetto che siamo siciliani e io cresciuto in questa città. Conoscevo già questo ristorante e vivendo al nord volevamo riassaporare i sapori della nostra terra. Il menù é tipico della Sicilia occidentale e più precisamente del trapanese. Quasi tutto a base di pesce, soprattutto antipasti e primi esprimono tradizione e ricerca. Le materie prime utilizzate sono di grande qualità e abbiamo passato una bella serata in una location dall’atmosfera calda ed elegante. Buona carta dei vini con grande varietà di bottiglie siciliane. Ottima la selezione di bottiglie di olio di oliva bio e IGP dal sapore intenso e strutturato. Abbiamo preso un antipasto di pesce cotto, buona proposta. Il primo speciale di fettuccine con ricci e gambero TOP ! Il tutto accompagnato da un rosé fresco e dal sapore marcato e minerale. Abbiamo trovato il personale e la gestione cordiale, professionale e attenta.
