I'd read very positive reviews about this restaurant, and I agree with them all! Located on a beautiful street in Bari Vecchia, Il Fortino awaits you with very courteous and welcoming staff, and with Mrs. Enza who makes her customers feel at home.
Delicious food and generous portions...in short, we had a great time!

Good morning, yesterday, Saturday, October 18, 2025, I had lunch at this restaurant. There were four of us, plus a dog we always take wherever we go. The owner seated us outside, and we ordered a peppered mussel dish, a large salad, an octopus salad, as well as traditional Bari pasta dishes (rice, mussels, and potatoes; cavatelli, chickpeas, mussels, and clams; spaghetti with clams; spaghetti all'assassina), and a very delicate and flavorful fried fish dish, all accompanied by a pleasant local wine. The owner made us feel right at home.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

This was our second visit to this place in a few months, and another incredibly tasty and successful one. The octopus here is unrivaled (of course, among those we've tried). Delicious fresh fish, grilled to perfection. The owner is a true "Italian mama," caring, asking questions, and chatting. You might have to wait for your food when it's crowded, but it's definitely worth it. It's a typical Italian experience here – celebrate your meal and savor the moment. We'll definitely be back!

A wonderful place, a lovely owner, and excellent food. The grilled octopus is a BLAST – you absolutely must try it. I highly recommend it. In my opinion, a must-see.

A family-run restaurant with very friendly service and delicious homemade food made with fresh ingredients. The owner catches fish himself every day and offers recommendations on the best fish. The risotto was very aromatic and perfectly prepared.

Personale gentile e sempre disponibile in un contesto molto familiare. Piatti ottimi, ovviamente se andate a Bari non potete non provare l'assassina o le orecchiette!

Fuimos recibidos por el propietario como si fuéramos un habitual - un lugar tan cálido y atento, la comida era excelente y el servicio superó las expectativas - nada era demasiado problema. La Focaccia era tan ligera y fresca y llena de sabores. La espagueti boloñesa era abundante y como la Focaccia llena de sabores en cada bocado. Después de haber asegurado espacio me las arreglé para apretar en el Tiramisu - una especialidad de la casa - no ser un fan de los pudines pesados, esto era muy ligero y un placer probar - muy recomendable
