Eher zufällig sind wir auf dieses Restaurant gestoßen. Die Gegend ist wohltuend untouristisch, aber das hat ja gerade seinen Reiz. Das Essen war typisch mit den sizilianischen Spezialitäten. Und mit dem Chef kommt man gern ins Plaudern. Das gibt es nicht mehr so oft.

This restaurant was recommended by a local who is a chef working in London. It is not as fancy as those at the touristy areas in Palermo and hidden in a tiny street but! But! The food? Fantastico, deliciozo, Marvellous! Pricewise; incredible value for the quality of the food. Monday-wednesday - open for lunch only. Thursday - Saturday, dinner only. Very near Ballaro market. Must-visit when in Palermo, if you can find it😁

Una gran joya escondida de un restaurante justo fuera de la entrada del Palazzo Cante Federico! Nos topamos con este restaurante y fuimos recibidos por Anes, que nos convenció de sentarnos y tomar una cerveza. Tuvimos una gran conversación con él y decidimos parar al día siguiente para almorzar! Fue una gran decisión. Anes nos recordó y nos sirvió todas sus especialidades, incluyendo un plato de pasta de mariscos que era absolutamente increíble. ¡Podríamos volver a cenar!

02/06/2025: If you are a lover of Sicilian cuisine, you cannot miss "Le chat noir" The good management of the two twin brothers, the authentic cuisine and the welcoming atmosphere make this restaurant a must-visit. I hope to be able to return soon and try more of their delicious dishes. *Rating:* 5/5 stars *Price:* reasonable (around 30-40 euros per person *Tip:* book in advance, because the restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists.

04/05/2025: We discovered La Tavernaccia in Palermo and we were thrilled! We ordered an appetizer, a first course, a second course, water and coffee, spending only 48 euros in total: truly exceptional value for money. The portions are generous and each dish is prepared with care. The food was really delicious, with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. A genuine experience, perfect for those looking for Sicilian cuisine in a welcoming and informal environment. We will definitely be back!
01/05/2025: This restaurant used to be much better, now the quality of the dishes is worse Before they had less customers and the quality and taste was the best, now for the amount of work they have they can't maintain the usual standard. The pasta with sardines was to dry and not very flavorful.The other pasta with white ragu was full of peas that predominated over everything, the fried fish was decent but nothing exceptionalThe breaded meat was tough and not well fried with a sandy texture in the crust I'm sorry to say but it was a disappointing experience, the service was good especially from a very friendly waiter.
