Al Cardellino In Bardolino

We went for dinner - right on the 1st day after the winter holidays. Always in Bardolino, but never been there. Located on a side street. Very nicely decorated. Interior ambience top. Lots of waiters who look after you and move quickly. Had 1/2 pasta as a starter, which really has the advantage, you can have pasta as a starter and then a main course. That was the steak for 2 with potatoes. The problem is - but it can be solved - the steak is fried on the open fireplace/grill. It's difficult to control medium or medium done or done. As a result, the steak initially comes medium rare. But you can control it if you order the hot stone and grill it...everyone in the restaurant did that. Top wines...Ripasso and Amazon - 1 glass each...top quality. Desserts / Dolce perfect. I had Baba...that saves you having to finish grappa :-)

Very good restaurant, great food, good wine

If you are looking for peace and relaxation here, you have come to the wrong place. Even those who want pizzas and fries. There is loud music playing, the restaurant is full and things are hectic as the waiters take great care of everyone. In addition to the dishes on the menu, there are also seasonal offers that you can find out about verbally. Everything is homemade, various traditional pastas, delicious bread etc. The food is a dream, elaborately cooked and beautifully presented. The portions are huge! The advantage is that you can order half portions of many dishes and desserts. Be sure to order the wine list. The price/performance ratio is fantastic!

Excellent food. Impeccable service

The excellent reviews that made us choose the place were fully confirmed by our experience. Smart place, quick booking, friendly, fast and attentive service. The half portions (which really aren't half portions) are an excellent opportunity to try more dishes. The bigoli biceti and the scottona rib that we tried were really excellent. The wine list and choice of wines by the glass are also interesting. Advised!

I'm delighted I booked the Ristorante Locanda Al Cardellino for a quiet celebration of my husband's birthday on the evening of 1st January, and that a cancellation enabled us to enjoy the New Year's Eve banquet as well. Both meals were absolutely fabulous and the service was top class from beginning to end with no hint of any pressure that must have been present with probably 180 people dining. The team collectively and singularly worked to ensure everyone had a night - or two - to remember for all the right reasons. It's certainly a place we will return to!
