I bought some delicious snacks here, along with a bottle of sweet white wine from Udine. The colleague who made my purchase asked if the wine would be consumed tonight? When he said yes, he searched the fridge for a long time to find a chilled bottle of the chosen variety. He succeeded. The staff at the wine bar are fantastic, as is the place. If a tourist walks past the shop, the atmosphere inside simply sucks them in. Not to be missed. Among the gastronomic experiences in Venice, this place deserves a podium place in its genre and offering. Come in!

A nice bar with a large selection of wines and spirits, which we have visited several times. Excellent cicchetti.

Excellent food and cheap if you eat out. Recommended, full of young people. You can eat along the canal.

A must-go. Amazing chichetti for 1.60 each and great selection of wines by the glass for cheap. Also illy coffee.

Delicious wine and cicchetti, good prices

I visited Schiavi a couple of days ago and I have eaten there many times over several years. Even though the cicchetti tastes good with a wide range. The service and atmosphere is very unfriendly and even hostile to tourists. So I will not go there again. Although, some of the other, younger staff try to make an effort to be polite. There are other and far better, traditional cicchetti bars in Venice. Especially, in the Rialto Mercato area. Where the family and staff are far more welcoming. Especially, to returning customers over the years and the cicchetti tastes even better with ingredients fresh from the market.

What w fun place to stop for a drink and some Venician style tapas. The wine they recommend and every bite I ate was delicious. The price was very reasonable as well.

Cantine del Vino già Schiavi is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a classic Venetian cicchetti spot. The selection of cicchetti is fantastic, perfectly paired with a spritz, and the atmosphere is wonderfully authentic. There’s a great outdoor standing area by the bridge, making it an ideal place to enjoy an early evening bite and drink while soaking up the local vibe. One word of warning: keep an eye on your food, as the seagulls are surprisingly bold and have been known to swoop in and steal from people’s plates! Fortunately, there’s a great ice cream shop just a few doors down, making it the perfect way to finish off your cicchetti and spritz session.

We loved coming here when we were in Venice for the most affordable and delicious ciattetti in the city. Whenever we were there it was obvious that there were more locals/Italians than there were tourists enjoying the cheap food and wine by the canal.

When visiting Venice, you can't help but take a stroll through the iconic, artistic district of Dorsoduro. And while you're in Dorsoduro, you can't miss Cantine di Vino gia Schiavi. A must-see in this area. It's beautifully situated by the canal and the bridge connecting to the other side. There's not much space inside. Most of the space is taken up by the line for excellent local wine and small sandwiches with delicious toppings (cichietti). Most of the guests at this establishment gather with glasses of wine and sandwiches in front of the entrance, along the wall, or on the steps of the bridge. If you decide to do so, and you're craving sandwiches, beware of the cunning and always hungry seagulls 😅. It's definitely worth a visit. The place is rustically decorated, and you can buy a bottle of wine (or two – the prices are attached to each bottle, so you don't have to bother the staff). And, of course, you'll experience the authentic, bustling Italian atmosphere.
