This is a long-established, historic bar that is popular with both locals and tourists. It is famous for its "cicchetti," a Venetian snack (small bread topped with various ingredients) and has a wide selection of cicchetti, which are very delicious. More than 60 types of cicchetti are handmade every day. There is a wide selection of wines, with many wine bottles lined up from floor to ceiling inside the bar, and you can also enjoy wine by the glass. It has a homey atmosphere, with casual, unpretentious atmosphere, where you can stand and drink at the counter or eat on the sidewalk outside. You can enjoy delicious cicchetti and wine at a reasonable price. This is a long-established wine bar loved by locals, where you can casually enjoy delicious wine and a variety of Venetian snacks called "cicchetti."

A legend. My favorite Ciccetti in Venice. The selection and quality are excellent. They also offer an excellent selection of bottled wines to take away. However, many people know this by now, and it can get quite hectic at peak times. A young crowd, in particular, has discovered this place. It's a great place to dine outside the restaurant on the canal. Be warned, though, of the greedy seagulls who also like the rolls...

Aperitif for lunch in this historic place outside the center of Venice but next to our hotel. It is a wine bar where you cannot consume the aperitif inside as there are no seats. Great variety of good cicchettin. Spritz logically served in a plastic cup as well as the cicchettin placed on a plastic plate. Great variety of wines and spirits. Prices are normal

One of those places that looks like it’s been there forever — and hopefully never changes. Cantina del Vino già Schiavi is charming, bustling, and full of locals who will silently judge you if you call cicchetti “tapas.” (Don’t do it. Just don’t. You might get politely escorted to the nearest canal.) The assortment is massive: little bites with creamy cod, truffle speck, gorgonzola madness, and other unholy-yet-glorious combinations. Grab a few, order wine (don’t overthink it — just point and drink), and settle wherever you can squeeze in. We ended up sharing a tiny table wedged between shelves of dusty wine bottles and two chatty Dutch travellers. It was chaotic. And perfect. The place hums with energy — locals debating, glasses clinking, and the occasional loud “salute” that makes you wonder if you’ve accidentally joined a secret club. It’s messy, a little chaotic, and totally alive. Affordable by Venetian standards. Tasty enough to knock one sock off, maybe two if you pair wisely. Also, a solid reminder that sometimes the best meals aren’t about fancy plating — they’re about wine-soaked laughter and elbow room the size of a shoebox.

I didn't plan on doing that, but I ended up eating 4 glasses of white wine and 6 cicchetti. It was really delicious and reasonably priced. I'd like to go again if I have time!

There may not be a bathroom, but this is the place I remember as the best moment of my 10 nights and 12 days in Italy. In the rainy atmosphere, cicchetti (easy to think of as finger food) and a glass of wine. It wasn't amazing, but it was better than other seaside restaurants in Venice, with cheap snacks and decent wine. If I had to do only one thing in Venice and include all the tourist food experiences, it would be here. Again, it wasn't amazing, but it was familiar or a little fresher.

Cicchettis and house wine were all delicious. Fairly cheap too. For anyone doing research on the area, this is the same place as Cantine del Vino. We had them both saved and spent several minutes trying to figure out why we couldn't find Cantine. Highly, highly recommend.

The best cicchetti in all of Venice, very casual place, wide selection of wines and all at a good price. Best quality/price ratio. Highly recommended!!

A great place for breakfast, where we eat all our breakfasts in Venice. It is very cheap and delicious. Cicchetti at a low price of 1.5 euros, coffee with milk 1.8 euros.
