A gem in the heart of Orta.
If you like rustic places, here you feel like you're going back to your great-grandmother's house who lived in the countryside. The dishes are few but very traditional for those looking for a typical Piedmontese experience. Ip food a joy. Small place, as the name rightly suggests so as not to create different expectations (the hole), everything is extremely characteristic! I recommend calling to book.
It also boasts an impressive variety of wines.

We stopped for an aperitif recommended by the positive reviews which fortunately were not wrong.
We had a Spritz and asked for a glass of red wine (a very good choice).
Very welcoming place with friendly staff.

Very typical atmosphere of a small historic tavern, very pleasant. We enjoyed mixed platters and bruschettas, glasses of Dolcetto and exquisite local products. The only flaw is the coffee, better to have it in one of the many bars around the beautiful village of Orta S. Giulio.

Beautiful environment, warm and welcoming. Great selection of wines. Few dishes but very good. Superlative desserts too.

We went on January 1st 2025 for lunch, a small welcoming place. Wide choice of wines. The vegetables that accompanied the bagna cauda were delicious, very tasty, I think we have never eaten them like this. the platter of cured meats and cheeses was accompanied by a sweet grappa gel... A mouth-watering goodness too and finally a sweet, eggnog and biscuits. Everything excellent.

Breve pit-stop per un pranzo leggero in questo bel localino, ricavato in un vecchio edificio ben ristrutturato, nel bellissimo paese di Orta S. Giulio.
Abbiamo mangiato una bagna càuda in due, veramente eccellente ed equilibrata tra aglio e acciughe. Assieme ci abbiamo bevuto due calici di un Nebbiolo locale, buono. La cameriera ci ha offerto un bis di salsa, come se avessimo mangiati due porzioni, perchè la verdura ben curata era tanta. Buono anche il pane, specialmente quello con le noci.
Conto onesto di 30 euro in due.
