06/07/2025: Let's face it, the giropizza is our glorious and carb-filled national response to the invasion of the almond-eyed "All You Can Eat". Of course, the cuisine they pass off as Chinese in those places is so original that in China, they would probably use it as food for particularly audacious goldfish. It's a bit like if we exported pizza with pineapple and pretended to open a chain in Naples. Pure madness.
So, for cosmic justice, the giropizza should be served to some unsuspecting tourists in Times Square, not to us, the people who have built an empire on pizza and endless regional diatribes (tall, short, wallet-friendly, gourmet... a wonderful mess!).
And instead, here we are, also us with our temples of "eat until you roll". Fortunately or unfortunately? Who knows. After all, the beauty of Italy is that you can eat a textbook carbonara for lunch and end up challenging your liver with a giropizza the same evening.
So let's analyze the battlefield: the PizzaClub No Limits in Somma Lombardo.
The scene is a great classic: a place where pizza becomes a canvas for experiments by a little taste chemist. The rules of the game are the same as its cousins scattered around the peninsula: the infamous colored cube on the table, a sort of gastro-intestinal traffic light that communicates your bellicose intentions to the waiting staff. Green for "LET'S GET ON WITH ANOTHER ROUND!", red for "I GIVE UP, CALL AN AMBULANCE".
The consistency of the pizza? Let's say that if you've tried one, you've tried them all. It's that battle pizza, created not to win gourmet prizes, but to act as a faithful squire to rivers of beer and evenings of cheerful din. Because, let's face it, in these places pizza is the pretext, the noble accompaniment for the real protagonists: laughter among friends and cold beer.
A small side note: we noticed a certain tendency to repeat. After the fifth round, the salty flavors started to look a little too askance at each other, and the sweet ones... well, let's just say that imagination has its limits, especially when it comes to Nutella.
But here's the unexpected ace up the sleeve: the place is surprisingly elegant and, above all, the staff is almost touchingly efficient and kind. Fast, smiling, tireless. Practically superheroes of table service.
Bottom line: if your goal is to spend a carefree evening, have fun with friends and test the capacity of your stomach, this is the place for you. Everything else is just a delicious, crunchy and cheesy side dish.
