I traveled to Positano in October and unexpectedly found this great B&B. The host was very kind and took us around Positano to enjoy the sunset, and also recommended us a super delicious restaurant in Amalfi. We can see the wonderful ocean views in the rooms, the roof, and even the breakfast area. The room and bathroom were very clean and we had a great night. The breakfast is generous and delicious. Thank you, the host, for letting us have a great memories. We love it so much.

We just finished a 3-day stay at this little paradise just outside Positano. If you’re looking for an authentic Italian experience, this is the place. The Giovanni family, who have owned the hotel since 1917, welcomed us warmly and provided excellent recommendations for exploring the coast. They offer a complimentary and punctual shuttle to and from Positano’s city center (5-10 minute drive). Breakfast was delightful, featuring made-to-order eggs, prosciutto, cheese, fresh fruit, and a variety of baked goods and fresh coffee. The view during breakfast was stunning, and the beautifully landscaped property felt like a slice of heaven. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the Wi-Fi works great. We hope to visit again soon!

My husband and I stayed here for five nights while on our honeymoon and had an incredible time! I keep telling people that the location and services cannot be beat. Positano is beautiful, but can get very crowded and busy. Il Barilotto is located just outside of the main area, perched up on the hills overlooking the ocean, so every room has a sea view. The hotel is located in the perfect spot of escape the busy, touristy parts after a long day. It is tough to find affordable rooms with a balcony directly in Positano, but the view we got at Il Barilotto was incredible. Giovanni and his family/the staff were so kind and accommodating throughout our entire stay. They also offer a free car service to and from the town center whenever you need it. There is a small beach below that we went down to watch the sunset, and free car services available to the local restaurants that are further away, which we found to be the best ones. If you want to go to the Amalfi Coast, I highly recommend that you stay at Il Barilotto, a location that can't be beat, rather than paying the exorbitant prices of the hotels directly in Positano's city center, or staying in Praiano or Sorrento where you can only really do a day trip to Positano because taxis are very expensive and it is too far to safely walk with the roads. (Also, not sure why they are listed on Google as a restaurant; there is no restaurant, it is a hotel that serves breakfast daily)

This hotel has been in Giovanis family since 1917. He and his family is so amazing and accommodating. We got to know his brothers and sister who also work at the hotel. This hotel is a gem and Giovanis recommendations for food and the beaches are incredible. If you are in Positano I recommend you stay here

My partner and I had a lovely stay here. It is an amazing family owned and run business of which we felt a part of during our stay. The room was cozy but authentic and very clean. The breakfast every morning was delicious and the views are unreal. The location is about a 2km walk from the center of Positano which was quite enjoyable. You can also catch the bus or the free shuttle that Giovanni offers daily. (Highly reccomend on arrival utilising the porta services at the port to get your bags delivered on arrival or you’ll battling some stairs!) We both enjoyed our stay, thanks again for our stay and welcoming us into your home.

Magical place, surrounded by nature with breathtaking views of Positano. It was an unforgettable stay, thanks above all to the warm welcome of Giovanni and his sister. The transfer and Vespa rental services are also excellent.

I couldn’t say enough good about our stay here. The family and atmosphere alone make it worth your stay. You get a full Italian experience not to mention its beautiful views.
