We had a delicious and super fun dinner here. The service was excellent. We had seafood couscous, steak, swordfish, tuna pasta and three different salads. Lemon tiramisu was also amazing. Seating outside is in the thick of the crowd gathered for wine accross the street, but also separated by a lovely hedge! Go! You won’t be disappointed.

This was one of the best dinners we had during our Sicily trip! We got the Angus filet, it was melt-in-your-mouth tender and delicious! We also ordered the local dish, Busiate with Trapani Pesto. Absolutely amazing! The pork with bacon and cheese fondue was just ok. The meat was tender, we just didn't care for the flavor. As people who do not eat seafood, it's been a challenge finding good restaurants and this was it! Service was also excellent!

We had both breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast was a generous selection of items (more than typical of the region), amd dinner offered a great selection of food, wines, and desserts (try the Cassata Siciliana). The owner's welcoming smile and friendliness is the cherry on the cake.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!!
We've been frequenting Trapani and its downtown restaurants for some time now, and this is truly one of those that deserves to be among the top choices for its quality, kindness, and hospitality!
We chose it again last night for a relaxing, quiet, and private outdoor dinner.
Fresh ingredients, cooked with flavor and absolute lightness, bringing out only the true flavors of the region.
The sardine meatballs and the asparagus and scampi risotto were excellent.
Generous portions, like few others!
The wine list was top-notch!
The bill was balanced.
For this reason, and to discover more, we'll be back soon!
I was perhaps forgetting the most important characteristic of the owners (who are always present): excellent friendliness!

It could not have been more Felliniesque if you tried. A balcony overlooking a street of restaurants, rooms that felt like our family belonged there and the courtyard that simply announced style.
After our luggage was hoisted to our second floor suite by a pulley and basket we knew we were in Trapani heaven.
Charming and gracious hosts, fabulous surrounding on palatial scale. The B&B is in the centre of vibrant Trapani, two street from the port and it’s boats, ships and tree lines avenue. Only the restaurant owned by the proprietors could top the stay, and it did. All of that in one Sicilian dream package.
The rooms were spacious and beautiful, exhibiting the best of the family atmosphere. The suite contained kitchen area which would have been useful if we were staying longer and not succumbing to the Sicilian cuisine on the Street below.
Aside from the generosity and graciousness of the hosts, the street bellow our balcony was alive with diners and passersby with real sense of community and vigour.
Just lovely place and experience.

An old-fashioned trattoria in the center of Trapani. Beautiful and well-appointed interiors, rooms with stone vaults, white tablecloths, candlelight on the table, and extremely friendly staff chatting with obvious regulars. The prices are fair, the portions are generous, and the food is delicious, especially the busiate pasta with Trapani pesto. Excellent for a quiet, unpretentious dinner.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ai Lumi, and the experience was truly excellent. The restaurant is very welcoming and pleasant, with meticulous attention to detail, perfect for both a relaxed dinner and special occasions.
The service is friendly and fast, always attentive without being intrusive. Special praise goes to the owners, who are extremely kind and always available to find solutions even when the restaurant is fully booked—something that's not always the case.
The menu is constantly updated, with interesting and never boring options. Chef Davide Catalano, one of the most talented chefs in the Trapani area, is known for his appearances on specialty TV programs: his touch is evident in every dish.
And then... the lemon tiramisu: simply galactic. It alone is worth the visit.
Absolutely recommended.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ai Lumi, and the experience was truly excellent. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed—perfect for both a relaxed dinner and special occasions.
The service is friendly and efficient, attentive without ever being intrusive. A special mention goes to the owners, who are incredibly kind and always willing to find solutions, even when the restaurant is fully booked—something you don't often see.
The menu is consistently updated, offering creative and well-balanced dishes. In the kitchen is chef Davide Catalano, one of the most talented in the Trapani area and a familiar face on food TV programs—his expertise is evident in every plate.
And then… the lemon tiramisu: absolutely out of this world. Worth the visit on its own.
Highly recommended. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ai Lumi is one of those places that quietly delivers a memorable, deeply Sicilian dining experience without any unnecessary fuss—and that’s exactly its charm.
Set in the heart of Trapani’s historic center, just a short walk from the sea, the restaurant blends rustic elegance with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Think exposed stone, soft lighting, and the kind of intimate layout that makes you want to linger over every course.
What really stands out is the food. Ai Lumi leans heavily into traditional Sicilian cuisine, but with a refined touch. The seafood is especially impressive—fresh, clean flavors that speak for themselves. Dishes like couscous di pesce (a Trapani specialty) are handled with care and authenticity, while pasta courses often highlight local ingredients like pistachios, almonds, and sun-ripened tomatoes. Everything feels seasonal and thoughtfully prepared rather than overworked.
The service is another highlight: attentive without being intrusive. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and wines, often happy to recommend excellent local pairings from Sicilian vineyards that elevate the whole experience.
Prices are fair for the quality, landing in that sweet spot where it feels like a treat but not a splurge. It’s equally suited for a relaxed romantic dinner or a slow, indulgent meal with friends.
If there’s a downside, it’s that the pace can be a bit slow during busy evenings—but in Sicily, that almost feels intentional. Meals here aren’t rushed; they’re meant to be savored.
